Short Bioagraphy

Teng-kuan Wang,collaborative pianist,born in Taiwan,starte d to learn piano

at six and learned violin at the age of 11.Then he entered the music class of Chaiyi

Junior High School,which major is piano and minor is violin.And he entered the

music class of Chaiyi Senior High School.In the three years kuan had received the full

scholarship from school.When he studied the high school,kuan’s major was piano,and

minor was violin,but he also joined the concert band and played tuba.In 2003,kuan

entered the music department in Soochow University,his major was piano and he also

played euphonium in the wind orchestra of music department.Kuan’s professor

includes Wei-Long Lee,Sophia Yu,Alexander Sung and John Vaughan.When Kuan

studied in junior high school,he began to organize piano trio to join the competition

and won the first prize.And when he studied in University,he often accompanied in

Students’recital,performance and competition.On the other hand he was also busy at

teaching.He taught lots of students including little kids and adults,and some of them

won the competitions or got accepted to the music school.After graduating from

university Kuan attended the military and served in the Ministry of National Defense

Symphony Orchestra which he played piano,violin and euphonium.In 2010 Kuan

retired from the military band and received full scholarship to study collaborative

piano of master program with Lisa Leonard and Tao Lin and he still kept teaching.

Now Kuan is pursuing his DMA program of Collaborative Piano with Timothy

Lovelace and desire to continue his teaching career.
