Headstart Teacher

Plan, prepare and implement all activities for an assigned center of children. Facilitate families

services and parent involvement through home visits, parent conferences and parent meetings.

Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate assigned staff and volunteers. Provide leadership to

classroom and overall center. Supervise day-to-day operation and maintanance of center,

assuring program quality. Work with parents to develop and implement family plans to enable

families to move toward self sufficiency. I have worked with many developmentally delayed

children and Special needs children as well as the agencies that have provided services for

these children such as Speech, physically therapy, cognitive therapy, and behavioral

management.

Worked as a Teacher Aide and substitute Director and Head Teacher in a Christian Child Care

Center with children ages from Infants to school age. Managed food program and paperwork,

bought groceries and prepared meals and snacks daily. Helped prepare lesson plans and

carried them out, had daily interations with parents, and supervised outdoor activities engaging

children in fun activities.

Worked with Preschool Children who were recieving daily services for Speech at the Aroostook

Mental Health Center's Summer Speech Camp for Preschoolers. My position was to supervise

seven preschool children ranging in age from 3-6 years old and assist Speech Pathologists. I

Aide and CPR current since 1982. I am trained in High Scope Education. Worked for an agency

awarded NAEYC creditionals and have been a member of NAEYC. Familiar with data entry in

COPA. Have been still attending at my local college University of Maine at Presque Isle taking

Fine Art and Photography.

I am part of the Maine Roads to Quality Early Care and Education Career Development Center.

I enjoy meeting new people and traveling. Seeing smiling faces on children and helping them

achieve new skills touches my heart. Creative art is a passion of mine as well as photography.
