Work Experience

August 2012 Paralympics Game

I worked at the Paralympics for 3 days as a volunteer. I learned to work with people of different backgrounds and cultures, I worked with people that could talk and it was really nice teaching them sign language. My duty during the Paralympics was to hold the box of which all the athletes put all their sweat pants before a race. This was the best experience and I will always be grateful for being a part of it.

I did work experience in a hair salon called Mr Benn. I washed the clients’ hair, blow dry and also clean on floor and did the washing of black towels. An article about me was written in the magazine as part of the process and also written in the Solihull college website.

June 2010. 7 Carr’s Lane, Eastside, Birmingham B4 7SX

Wesley Owen Book Shop

I did a two weeks work experience in the book shop and I was given three duties. I did the pricing on books, bibles and DVDs, I worked at the till and had my interpreter next to me to help me with communication to the customers and the last duty was to check whether there was any books, bibles or DVDs we’re finished and add more onto the shelves.
