Objective Objective is a hard thing to put in words. I guess you could say my primary

objective is to be able to move closer to my kids. Age causes us to view things in a

totally different perspective than when we’re young. The biggest advantage is that I

have such a wealth of information, knowledge, and experience that I can bring.

Information and experience that I eagerly desire to pass along to younger workers.

Many years of work, in the oil fields, in manufacturing, has provided me with

experience that most of the young upcoming employees have yet to gain. My age

may seem great but I still have so many good strong years to give to an employer. I

have much to bring and much to offer not only to the company but to young

coworkers eager to learn and grow. I guess you might say my secondary objective

is to be in a position that helps these younger people grow into rewarding

employees.

240/480v power and 24vdc controls, are unique with the hydraulic systems and electrical

systems. Maintaining these machines require that I be able to troubleshoot and repair

any hydraulic problem that may arise with each machine. Along with that I must be able

to troubleshoot and repair any problems that arise with the electrical systems to these

machines. Not only troubleshooting the electrical portion of these machines I am required

to be able to modify the electrical controls to accommodate any additional functions

needed in order to run molds with special features. Along with the hydraulic and electrical

I am required to be able to work on and repair any mechanical issues that may come

along with these machines.

Secondary equipment needed to manufacture plastic parts is also part of my

responsibility. Upkeep and repairs to grinders such as scheduled pm’s, changing cutter

blades, maintaining thermolators that control water temperature to the molds.

In my building I also have three water systems, the air system, and five vacuum systems

that I am required to upkeep and maintain. The water systems require me to be able to

know and understand about water analysis and what and when to add chemicals.

I am also required and expected to be able to troubleshoot and repair any problems that

might arise with automated equipment such as robots, automated tables, and printing

equipment. With automated equipment I am required to be able to interpret and work

from ladder logic controls as well as being able to modify ladder logic to the PLC.

Doing all this I am required to be able to work from a preventative maintenance program

in order to document all work done.

Test Technician

May 1994 - Sept. 1997 UNC Industrial Power Odessa, TX

Your Name

Address, phone, fax, email

I was originally hired for the position of package refurbishment supervisor. In this position

I was responsible for supervising the installation of turbines to either generator or

compressor packages. This involved the paint department, test facility, package

checkouts, and final loading for shipments.

Package checkouts consisted of testing items such as the fuel valves, vibration systems,

and electrical systems.

When the test facility was spun off as its own area I was moved into the position as test

supervisor. This involved coordinating the installations and removal of turbines for testing,

actual run up and testing for horsepower and vibration, and working closely with

engineering to determine the quality of overhauled turbines.

Instrument Technician

April 1980 - May 1993 Arco Oil and Gas Crane, TX

Working in a gas plant presented many challenges. Starting from scratch I worked in the

maintenance department slowly gaining knowledge of a gas plant working as a relief

operator. Gaining the required experience needed I transferred into the

Instrument/Electrical department.

While in the I/E group I worked up to Senior Instrument tech. In this position I was

required to share the duties of supervising our shop with the senior Electronics Tech.

These duties required us, on a monthly rotating basis, to oversee the I/E shop, help the

other instrument men with any problem they had, supervise several contract crews, and

prepare for upcoming jobs from project meetings.

Part of my duties as an instrument Tech was to be able to install, repair, and calibrate

instrumentation in the plant. This included flow meters, pressure meters, temperature

meters, level transmitters, strip charts, and any valve related to the meters. This included

being able to service all pneumatic and 4-20ma instrumentation. I was required to be able

to work Foxboro transmitters, Barton controllers, Fisher valves, and Rosemount

transmitters. As part of my duties I was expected to be able to run tubing to various

meters.

Another area I was required to work with was the pneumatic portion on the plant gas

compressors controls. This was not limited to compressor controls but all pneumatics in

the plant such as repairing and test plant emergency shutdown valves.

Along with the instrumentation I was required to be able to work with the electrical portion

of the plant. I was required to be able to work on motor controls which were 480v,

unwiring and wiring back up electric motors once maintenance finished, running conduit

and installing new equipment, troubleshooting and repairing controls for motors up to

2000hp. I was required to be capable of working on electrical circuits from 24vdc to

4160vac. I was required to be able to install and maintain variable drive units that were

used on compressor interstage fans.

Upon the installation of a Taylor DCS system I worked with the electrical engineer on

designing and building the graphics for the system and once up and running I was

required to be able to troubleshoot and maintain the hardware side of the DCS system.

Outside the plant I was required to be able to troubleshoot and service any electrical

problems the production field had. I was also required to supervise the installation of a

data acquisition system to the production field. Once this system was installed I was

responsible for the programming, hardware, and training of the data acquisition system. I

was also responsible for building and installing the portable remote well control units.

Driller

Aug. 1977 - April 1980 Gulf Oil Odessa, TX

Being a training rig and new to the drilling end of the oil field I began as a floor hand.

From that point I began learning all the aspects of drilling. As a beginning hand work

consisted of cleaning, digging trenches if needed, helping the other hands, all the tasks of

the new guy on a rig. Once I became familiar with that position I was advanced to motor

hand. From that point I learned what is required to maintain and service all the motors,

keeping inventory of fuel and water, and servicing the power units on a drilling rig. Moving

up from there I advanced to derrick hand. Now I began to learn about drilling muds and

what additives are needed in certain circumstances of drilling a well. I also began

assisting the driller learning the ins and outs of operating a drilling rig. Moving up to driller

responsibilities grew ever so much in that I had to know how to drill a well and what it

takes to keep a drilling rig running but since this was a training rig I had to teach various

personnel what is involved to move onto a location, drill a well, and then complete the

well.
