MORE THAN 25 YEARS EXPERIENCE AS A FREELANCE WRITER
The following projects are representative of my work. My computer skills include Microsoft Word, Power
Point, Visio, Adobe Photoshop and HTML. B.A. English North Texas University.
Victoire Absolue International LLC (VAI) – May 2012 to present, Consultant to Victoire
Absolute International, a disaster management organization whose work is centered on debris
management activities for Haiti. My work with them has included proposal preparations and
creation of marketing materials for their organization.
Bank of America – November 2011 – May 31, 2012 – Contractor to the Procedure
Management Team. Converted documentation from the Global Fulfillment team to the
standard format approved by the Procedure Management Group. Worked closely with the
GFF teams in India and Mexico. In addition, as my last assignment prior to the end date
(May 31, 2012) for my contract, I created a systems user guide to assist associates in using
a website to select Title Service Providers and upload necessary closing documents.
Unified – Baton Rouge LA- March 2009 Nov 2011 – Consultant to Unified, a Disaster
Recovery Organization. My work at Unified includes writing proposals, power point
presentations, feasibility studies, process documents, and web content for new product
development.
TeleMedium – Plano Texas June 2008 to October 2010 Consultant to TeleMedium.
This company provides end-to-end voice over IP solutions for xSPs who want to offer VoIP
services. I created new product and service documentation to explain the hardware and
software that TeleMedium uses to manage convergent networks and maximize their
customers’ success and profitability. In addition, I developed training materials to assist
their call centers and new channel partners.
MB Dolphin and Associates – California - Aug 2006 to March 2007 – I was hired by this
consulting firm to create a book that teaches people how to write successful proposals.
Of course, part of writing successful proposals includes understanding how to read and
interpret the details of the Request for Proposal (RFP). The book is titled “Up Your Win
Rate” and it is available for sale at the MB Dolphin and Associates website.
EDS-- Plano Texas May 2006 to May 15, 2008. I was hired as a contractor to work in the
capacity of technical writer and editor with the EDS Solutions Engineering group. This
group is responsible for engineering architected solutions into testing. There are several
documents associated with the release of new components at EDS: a Design Proposal
Summary (DPS), Firewall Rules Specification Documents, Visio Drawings, and Server
Build Documents. I was a member of a team of three who worked with the engineers in
writing, editing and posting this documentation to the EDS knowledge Centre where others
then used it.
Bank of America – Dallas Texas February 2005 to Feb 2006. I was hired on a one-year
contract to document a new database system that was created for the purpose of
maintaining information regarding the electronic communications sent and received from
members of a carefully selected target population. After creating the corresponding system
document, I documented processes, training material, procedures and policies of the

corresponding newly established department: the Bank of America Enterprise Electronic
Communications Regulatory Enablement Department.
Alliance Data Systems - Dallas Texas – November to December 30, 2004. I created
three documents for a web-based system that this company shares with one of its
customers: 65-page procedures guide for end users; 25-page systems guide for
programmers and systems developers; 35-page image guide showing the connectivity of
the various screen fields to related database tables.
Pacific Life – Newport Beach California – July 1 to September 1, 2004. As a Consultant, I
worked with the managers of the IT department to edit and revise their processes, policies
and procedures to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
Email Science, Inc. May 1, 2004 to November 2004 Consultant - I assisted this startup in
creating needed content and documentation: Process documentation, provisional patents,
white papers, web content, call center training materials, etc.
Secured Funding Corporation March 1 to May 1, 2004. Consultant-- Designed and
documented processes for their affiliate broker’s web site content management and
corresponding reference materials used by employees to assist customers in making the
most suitable product decisions given their financial profiles. This work also included
placement and design of the content and related graphics on the web page.
E*TRADE Mortgage (division of E*TRADE Financial) October 2001 to March 1, 2004.
Positions held: Business Analyst, Senior Technical Writer – I was hired to document this
company’s loan origination system. This mortgage company (formerly Loans Direct) had
been recently acquired by E*TRADE Financial. The system, used to originate and process
loans, had no documentation. I documented the system in three months to enable the
organization to pass an OTS audit. My subsequent work there included documenting
processes, creating internal marketing and training pieces to promote and train employees
on new product releases as well as contributions to the web design for the mortgage tab,
creating a policy and procedure manual, and various training manuals for sales, processing
and call center operations.
