Beginning in May of 1974 to May of 1975, as Assemblyman:

Unit Rig & Equipment Company Conroe, Texas

Responsible for assembly of operator cabins for ore hauling dump trucks used in strip mining operations. Position required reading and understanding operation of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics, then wiring and piping controls according to specification.

From May of 1975 to April of 1980, as Production Control Supervisor:

Unit Rig & Equipment Company Conroe, Texas

Responsible for setting up accounts with local vendors for fittings, fasteners, wire, terminations, etc., issue of purchase orders for parts required, requisitions, and sales orders to track job costs. Utilizing seven direct report employees handled scheduling a machine shop consisting of 35 different lathes, boring mills, drill presses, turret lathes, and various other chip making machines to meet parts demands in support of delivery dates for drilling rig draw works and ore hauling dump trucks. Process routings, reporting of variances against the established standard, scrap reporting and recovery plans were essential elements of the Production Control function. Understanding multi level Engineering Bills of Material as well as timely data entry in support of the MRP function was vital to the accuracy of the information produced. Other duties included coordination and interface with offsite Company facilities in order to procure and expedite parts or assemblies required to meet master production schedules. Position required travel to company headquarters as well as other company facilities in order to work with Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Procurement, Inventory Control, Service, and other functions critical to the success of the business.

From January of 1980 to April 1984, as Production Control Supervisor:

Ft. Worth Pipe & Supply Conroe, Texas

Responsible for tracking materials used in the manufacture of down hole casing, tubing, and line pipe serving the Oil & Gas Industry. Duties included tracing and coordination of receipt of steel rolls of varying sizes against purchase orders from domestic steel suppliers via inland waterways, rail, and truck. Maintaining inventory of raw materials, accounting for work in process, scrap and report of variances in projected output were required in addition to cost accounting activities such as tracking labor and overhead. Regular inventory audits were performed, and had to be done while processing product. When required, operating the overhead bridge crane, and supervising a crew on the pipe straightening machine were also duties performed.

Beginning in April of 1984 to January 1998 as Assistant Production Manager:

Responsibilities included entering new sales orders into computer data base, generating and maintaining shop work orders and associated master production schedules, customer support, sales rep support and training, customer dispute resolution, and working closely with customers and sales reps to insure accuracy and on time delivery of orders placed. Coordinated the design and construction of over 30,000 square feet of additional production facilities in 5 separate phases to existing plant, including the design and installation of a transpoevaporative septic field line system to upgrade and expand sewage handling capacity for over 160 personnel. Consulted with manufacturing operations to incorporate design features required to increase productive capacity of existing facility. Worked with production personnel and equipment vendors to maintain, troubleshoot, specify and purchase production equipment.

From January 1998 to January 2002 as Facilities Manager:

Along with all the responsibilities cited in position of Assistant Production Manager, additional responsibilities included the design and construction of a new 135,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility. Project including selection of site location, negotiating with local municipalities for tax abatements, qualification of vendors for Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and General Contractor. Lean Manufacturing Value Stream Mapping and process flow analysis techniques were utilized to reduce originally estimated plant footprint by more than half resulting in savings of $1.5 million dollars in costs. Responsible for coordination of the plant move including arranging for riggers and other vendors as well as commissioning of the project to obtain a certificate of occupancy. Project completed on time and under budget despite rain delays due to the Tropical Storm Allison event of 2001.

From January 2002 to June 2006 as Director of Operations:

Acted as Lean Manufacturing change agent working with recommendations from TMAC (Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center), resulting in production efficiencies increasing by 30% due to adoption of Lean manufacturing 5S practices including waste reduction efforts, cross training initiatives, continuous process improvement practices and improved process flow. Responsible for as many as 160 direct report employees in a multi shift operation, and incorporated changes in attendance policy resulting in productive capacity losses due to attendance moving from 15 – 20% down to 5%. Also tasked with development of a Capital Expense budget, and worked closely with primary financial providers to manage same.

From June of 2006 to August, 2008 as Sales Manager:

Directed the sales efforts of 13 Independent Manufacturers Rep Agencies in the US and Canada for a line of residential HVAC equipment. Responsible for Rep training, performance, and qualifying new agencies in order to access wider markets, oversight of customer service, order processing, private brand label agreements, administration of volume discount agreements, private brand label agreements, and new business development through wholesale distribution.

From August of 2008 thru Nov. 2010 as Sales Manager

Marmion Industries Corp Houston, Texas

Sales and Business Development for a Manufacturer of Specialty Industrial HVAC Equipment including General Purpose and Explosion Proof types with Purge and Pressurization provisions.

Position required knowledge of technical aspects of Industrial HVAC applications incorporating purge and pressurization techniques used to qualify enclosures to meet the NFPA496 criteria, and blast rating provisions.

From March 2010 thru January 2012
