Nokia CARE Engineer providing support for customers of NSN Russia (Megafon). This involved the use of Resolve 3.01 to solve complex issues related to the UTRAN – FLEXI WBTS, RNC 450 (2600), RU10, RU20,
IP RAN, RAS06, CS CORE, PS CORE and OSS 5.1. Also provided on site support as and when necessary.

With Telcel as the customer and involved with on site UPGRADING of RNC’s to RU10 SW. Working with a dedicated team preparing RNC’s
and then completing this at the customer site by way of SCRIPTS, MML
commands and MACROS for the OMS & OMU respectively, responsible
for ensuring the RNC QoS during and post UPGRADE. I was also tasked
with a Project to deliver a COMPETENCY TRANSFER for TOOLS on
the Nokia NETACT and OSS to Telcel NOC Engineers so they are able to
use them without assistance. This involved a review of the current set-up
and submitting my proposals to NSN and Telcel.

Bogota D.C., July 2009 – October 2009
RNC O&M SUPPORT ENGINEER
Working with the TICKET HANDLING team assisting with L1 & L2
customer issues, who are Comcel and Telefonica respectively. Advising
on best working practices for fault resolution with RNC450, WBTS &
RAS06, on the job COMPETENCY TRANSFER and scheduled classes
using TESTLABS for all TOOLS on the Nokia OSS. I was responsible
for the organization of required resources for this Project to ensure a good
service can be delivered. Also tasked with RNC Emergency cases and of
implementing PARAMETER changes.

DATABUILD ENGINEER – HSDPA/HSPUA 3.5G OPTIMIZATION
On my return to the UK I was involved with the MORAN (MULTI OPERATOR RAN) project, this involved the UPGRADE of existing
Nokia WBTS by RECONFIGURING the Iub design through CARD
UPGRADES, DCN/COCO DELETION & REBUILDS plus the AXC
SOFTWARE PLANNING & UPGRADES using CM PROVISIONER
TOOLS . In addition to this FLEXI SWAPS were also performed,all
using RAS06. Performed work was logged in a tracker as part of the
administration required.

RNC O&M SUPPORT ENGINEER
Responsible for the preparation of COMPETENCY TRANSFER for WBTS,
RNC, KPI’s and QoS for RAS06. This was achieved by way of classes for some specific tools used on NETACT followed by distributing accompanying documentation, this included subjects such as FM REPORTS, MAINTENANCE MODE, and general AL MONITORING. I was also involved with the RAN O&M for NSN and the customer which was CLARO AR.

With TELCEL as the customer I was tasked with producing documents for
RNC ROUTINE/PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE and also for the
PERFORMANCE MONITORING of ‘RNC, this encompassed all the key
APPLICATIONS on NETACT OSS, following-on to providing the 2ND LINE O&M SUPPORT for NSN and TELCEL which included a
COMPETENCY TRANSFER for 3G AL MONITORING using RAS06, planned works such as RNC/FLEXI WBTS HW & SW UPGRDES via the CM PROVISIONER TOOLS, the OPTIMIZATION of RNC to PS CORE, plus day to day activities for the RAN.

Dublin, Republic Of Ireland, March 2007 – April 2007
UTRAN STABILITY ENGINEER
At the end of March I began A Stability Assurance Project with
Nokia, this time Vodafone Ireland being the customer. Here I
was involved with a competency transfer, network “clean-up”,
checking of all end to end parameters plus advising on the most
effective and efficient ways to ANALYZE and OPTIMIZE the RADIO
SPECTRUM to achieve a higher cell availability and recommendations
for the successful implementation of HSDPA into the network. This
project ended in April as did my employment with Genesis Consultancy Ltd.
Paris, France, January 2007 – February 2007
SQM ENGINEER
January 2007 saw me return for the SQM Pilot with Nokia on
‘SFR network. SQM is an advanced monitoring tool that can be
integrated into a customers existing environment and, using the
OSS/NECTACT platforms, be set-up according to their needs and
requirements. The tool detects potential service affecting faults
that are not highlighted by alarm monitors, all problem classes are
represented by way of a user friendly GUI. I was tasked with
promoting this product and outlining all benefits to the customer.
The project came to an end, successfully, during February with our
customer purchasing the product a few months later.
Lyon, France, October 2006 – December 2006
BSC UPGRADE ENGINEER
BSC SW Upgrades for Nokia with SFR, the responsibility held was
preparation of all relevant SW and associated network data prior to
the upgrade using CM PROVISIONER TOOLS and then post upgrade
verification. ‘The BSC were upgraded to S11.5 package.

2ND LINE O&M ENGINEER
On my return to this project I resumed work as a 2nd Line Engineer
responsible for investigating DROPPED CALLS, RAB CS performance,
scripts, issues escalated by 1st Line, Stability and general procedures
that contributed to improving the monitoring and performance of the
network. I commenced this position at the start of July.
Paris, France, January 2006 – June 2006
OPTIMIZATION TEAM LEADER
I returned in January 2006 and was again with Nokia and SFR. The role I had was Team/Project Leader for the QoS of 4 ‘RNC. During this 4 month project I led a team of 5 Engineers and we OPTIMIZED these ‘RNC by way of analyzing the existing PARAMETERS to increase the available bandwith using the following methods;
1. Iub and ATM Reconfiguration
2. RNC, AXC and WBTS SW upgrades
3. Utilizing KPI monitoring for faults such as SLEEPING CELLS and then testing or applying the correct remedies according to the failure reason (WBTS, AC, TRANS etc.)
During this period I was also involved with a HSDPA pilot for the customer
which included preparation of the test RNC plus all associated WBTS, to
log and document any new events that occurred post implementation plus a
COMPETENCY TRANSFER to the customer.
My responsibilities also included producing a daily Cell Availability report
for the customer, direct requests from Nokia France, SFR, third parties and
co-ordination of Problem Reports raised for Field Engineers. Directly after
this project I began a dedicated KPI project by collecting, analyzing and
producing power point presentations from the following counters;

From these reports, and my findings, I worked with other senior engineers
using written and graphical data to rectify and find solutions for RAB and
RRC network affecting faults. These projects came to an end in June 2006.
Reading, UK, February 2005 – December 2005
RAN 1ST LINE & STABILITY O&M ENGINEER
Employed as a Nokia RAN 1ST Line Engineer for the 3 UK Network I was
responsible for investigating and rectifying material faults via remote
monitoring of the network. After a period of approximately 6 months I
gained the position of Shift Leader which basically gave me the
responsibilities of ensuring all operations ran smoothly and in accordance
with SLA’s for the shift I was on. In November 2005 I gained promotion to
Stability Engineer this required me to investigate the root causes of
performance affecting issues, mainly RRC. My initial role as a 1st Line
Engineer began in February 2005 after returning from France.
Paris/Lyon, France, October 2003 – January 2005
RAN O&M ENGINEER
Nokia France with SFR as the customer from October 2003 – February
2005. The first phase involved DESIGN & RF PLANNING of the 3G
network; accurate selection of carrier frequency to ensure best possible
use of the bandwidth in the RADIO SPECTRUM, verification of the 3G
parameters and, if any discrepancies, corrections to ADJACANCIES
using Nokia CM PROVISINER TOOL for either manual or planned uploads
appropriate selection of TX for ‘WBTS – FIXED/LEASED LINES
from a provider, conventional E1, E2, E3 and MICROWAVE. I was also
tasked with the initial NETWORK MONITORING for the customer.
The second phase saw me working with the DRIVE TEST team and the
INTEGRATION of new ‘WBTS. This project ended in February 2005.
