Power management OEM’s include Littelfuse, Cooper Bussman, Eaton/Cutler Hammer and Airpax/Sensata. Fuse products have included applications from automotive to commercial /industrial. The circuit breaker products as provided by Eaton/Cutler Hammer and Airpax/Sensata include a range of products from hydraulic-magnetic circuit breakers and protectors, thermal circuit protectors, bimetal thermostats, and distribution systems ground fault circuit interrupters.

VICE-PRESIDENT/MARKETING /SALES – THE VINTAGE SHOP – (11/08-4/11)

Promoted products of the Vintage Shop while simultaneously taking on contract consulting positions in the OEM market; maintained contacts and knowledge of the participants in the field. Additionally, stayed abreast of the requirements of the market place. Used these opportunities to keep skills sharp and relevant during search for a career position in Outside Sales.

OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE - ESSEX GROUP (4/07-11/08)

Essex Group is a manufacturer of copper wire for use in various electrical products; it also serves as a distributor for the insulating products used in conjunction with copper wire in the manufacture of motors and transformers. The distribution lines included products such as electrical insulating tapes, resins, flexible as well as custom formed rigid insulation products. Flexible insulation included products from Dupont such as Nomex and Mylar. Other suppliers were Permacel, 3m, Intertape, and General Electric.

As Sales Representative, duties included recovering business lost prior to my joining the company and expanding market share/growing account base. Required identifying the appropriate personnel in each account and establishing a strong relationship to boost confidence in company capabilities. Territory consisted of electrical and electronic OEM accounts and covered the Texas – Mexico border. Product lines and services focused on the production and repair of motors and transformers used in power transfer as well as power generation. OEM accounts included such world class companies as Emerson Electric, AO Smith, and Regal Beloit.

Identified an additional $5 million in new business while in the process of recovering lost business.

OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE - BATES CONTAINER (3/05-4/07)

Responsible for sales of corrugated products to the industrial and produce industries. Products consisted of corrugated boxes and poly bags. Customer base consisted of 85% electrical and electronic OEMs. Secured the opportunity to present products and services to the largest produce growers and shippers in the territory.

OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE - SHIPPERS SUPPLY (1/04-1/05)

Major responsibility was to market packaging materials into the industrial account base; while maintaining existing base of produce accounts. Involved working closely with accounts to make adjustments in inventory levels to avoid overstock. Along with growing market share, profit margins were closely monitored. Target accounts included, but not limited to, Johnson Controls, TRW, Eaton, Celestica, Delphi, and Tyco Electronics.

MEXICO REGIONAL SALES MANAGER - AIM/AMERICAN IRON METAL (9/01-12/03)

Responsibilities included market research and product development for sales presentations. Product lines consisted of solder in all forms and adhesives for bonding components onto circuit boards. Penetrated accounts to determine most effective contacts. Solder product line consisted of bar solder, wire with flux core, and solder paste for SMT applications. All of these products were produced in house; production was in Canada, United States, and Mexico. Built strong relationships with contacts who needed to be from all departments involved in decision-making regarding acquiring company products and services.

Territory consisted of accounts along the Texas/Mexico border, as well as other industrial areas of Mexico such as Monterrey and Guadalajara. Customer base and target accounts included Delphi, Johnson Controls, Kemet Electronics, Tyco Electronics, and Jabil Circuits.

SALES REPRESENTATIVE - AURORA TECHNOLOGIES – (9/00-9/01)

Promoted custom fabricated components produced using flexible and rigid electrical insulating materials. The approach to market was direct sales as well as working with distribution channels. Required pursuing direct sales as well as supporting distribution reps when they identified the end user accounts. Within two months tenure, secured the opportunity to quote the single largest RFG in company history. The RFQ was for $6 million dollars for a variety of custom part numbers for one major account.

SALES REPRESENTATIVE/APPLICATION ENGINEER - ELLSWORTH ADHESIVES – (10/99-9/00)

Major responsibility included identification and development of new opportunities to promote adhesive products as supplied by manufacturers or as a value added custom packaging as required by end user accounts. Target accounts were primarily electronic OEM accounts along the Texas/Mexico border.

SALES REPRESENTATIVE - EIS/ELECTRICAL INSULATION SUPPLIERS – (5/88-10/99)

EIS is a distributor of electrical and electronic materials used in the manufacture of power distribution/power generation as well as the manufacture of electronic circuit boards.

Developed account base; increased and maintained market share in existing accounts. Qualified accounts and properly identified key account personnel. Developed rock solid relationship with customers. Contacts included purchasing and all engineering departments.

Relationship building was not limited to customers; building a strong relationship with supplier representatives was as just as important to gain and keep their support. This was accomplished by insuring that my suppliers learning that they could count on my support when there were issues with their products’ lines in key accounts. Suppliers such as 3M, Permacel, Dymax, Hellerman-Tyton, and Kester Solder, as well as my customers, learned that I could be counted on to deliver.

During my tenure, I was able to develop the territory to a peak of $4.5 million in sales.

My account responsibility included, but was not limited to, General Motors, Johnson Controls, TRW, Tyco Electronics, Universal Lighting Technologies, Invensys, Delphi.
