Family Therapist – Full-Time

• Provide Individual and Family therapy, case management, assessment, diagnosis,
treatment planning, and support services for emotionally disturbed and/or severely
emotionally disturbed children ages 5 to 18 and their families.
• Facilitated independent living skills training, as well as the development and
implementation of behavioral treatment plans used in both the home and/or school
setting.
• Participated in the development of student Independent Educational Plans, IEP’s, Student
Study Teams and/or 504 Plans, assisting parents in securing school-based
accommodations for SED children and adolescents in collaboration with Santa Barbara
County School District.
• Worked closely with residential treatment staff and probation officers to ensure a positive
client transition in and out of placement.
• Worked collaboratively with psychiatrist, consulted with collateral resources involved in
client’s life, as well as provided on call crisis support, intervention, and referral to WRAP
and other support services.

• Work extensively with in-home Foster and/or Biological family members of severely
emotionally disturbed, at-risk children who are recommended to program due to severe
symptomology and need for maintaining placement.
• Interviewed clients to assess needs for mental health services and referral to outside
agencies and support services.
• Provided psychotherapeutic and rehabilitation services to clients and their families to
assist them in achieving productive social adjustment, reducing the impact of disabling
disorders, and facilitated in ensuring their overall achievement of living, vocational,
recreational, and interpersonal goals.
• Provide on-call crisis counseling for clients experiencing acute episodes, evaluating client
in order to facilitate voluntary or involuntary admission to psychiatric facility or hospital
