UC Irvine Formula Society of Automotive Engineers Race Car Team June-Sept. 2012 and Jan 2013-present

• Designed, tested and fabricated an electrical control system for headlights, brake lights, and horn using breadboard.

• Used Solidworks to design and then fabricated a locking mechanism for an Anderson connector according to

FSAE rule book.

• Profiled Rockers and Uprights (suspension) using lathe and milling machines.

• Worked on the profiling and grinding of chassis and suspension components.

UC Irvine Music Stack Project Jan 2013-present

• In team of 4, designed a mechanism to play music by free fall motion of a steel ball as it triggers the switch and

plays the music using the Arduino platform.

• Determined system requirements and computed performance parameters, including weight limits for the case

doing finite elements analysis in the Solidworks.

• Documented process of down selection, static analysis, and engineering drawings for the music box.

UC Irvine Design of a Natural Gas Generator Oct. -Dec. 2011

• Using matlab, designed a CHP absorption chiller system powered by the exhaust of the diesel engine that would

provide maximum efficiency.

• Optimized the NOx emission rate, and efficiency while satisfying the power requirement of the diesel engine.

• Wrote an extensive professional engineering report and made a commercial pamphlet for the natural gas

generator.

RESEARCH

Research Assistant Farghalli Mohamed’s Material Science Lab, UC Irvine Jan.-June 2012

• Measured grain sizes of aluminum and copper with Image J software.

• Utilized Cryomilling process on aluminum powder to get finer grain structure and more rapid grain refinement.
