Description:
The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite-based navigation system
made up of a network of 24 satellites placed into orbit. GPS satellites
circle the earth twice a day in a very precise orbit and transmit signal
information to earth. GPS receivers take this information and use
triangulation to calculate the user's exact location. Essentially, the GPS
receiver compares the time a signal was transmitted by a satellite with the
time it was received. The receiver can determine the user's position and
display it on GPS Track Maker tool map.

Then the data is re- forwarded to the serial port of the host computer with
a baud rate of 19200. The data is traced in recognize by the Gps track
maker software. The software plots the coordinates in a map. Just a passing
mention of the GPS hardware used for collecting the data, and how the data
is transferred to the server, and stored in the database and converted for
sending to the Web Client for KML(Keyhole Markup Language) display.
