When hired at Mallory & Associates, I quickly assessed the need for the office to upgrade the
computer hardware and to move to a networked system. Convincing the owner of this was a
challenging task but with my determination to accomplish what I believed to be best for the
business, I eventually won him over. After working through the first tax season with the new
system in place, it was agreed that it was a very profitable move. I also instigated the move
toward a “less paper” office with the use of an electronic filing cabinet system. I began the
change slowly by converting the tax division of the office, with the audit and compilation
divisions to follow.
While employed at Denman & Associates I quickly got their backlogged work up-to-date and
implemented a new billing system. This new system allowed better tracking of time spent and
billable hours on each project allowing for a clearer picture of profitability for the project. It also
captured services that were not being billed for in the past.
I enjoy the challenge of removing redundant and unnecessary tasks and those procedures that are
followed simply because “that is the way we have always done it”. The secret is maintaining
accuracy and ensuring that the necessary checks and balances are in place while preserving the
efficiency and maximum revenue flow.
In my employment history I have successfully contributed to company goals independently and
in a team environment. I enjoy both challenges and would like an environment that supports
