Preamble to Resume of Robert W. Cooper
I am a dual retiree of the telecommunications and information technology
industry seeking an individual contributor position. I read with interest
the need for an Telecom and Construction Field Crew Manager.
I was excited when I realized that what you are looking for in the person
you hire are the very traits and skills I can bring to this job. If
possible, I'd like to meet with you in person to talk over specifics.
When viewed from a chronological perspective the attached resume is
weighted toward later assignments at upper management levels. Please
note, at this juncture my desire is to be an individual contributor,
continuing my focus on information technology and similar low voltage
equipments.
Over a 25-year former career with a major telecommunications firm I held
positions ranging from hardware technician to General Manager with
assignments as an operations manager, traffic engineer, network-engineering
manager, network-planning manager and marketing manager in between.
Several projects included the engineering and implementation of central
office based call centers and nation/region-wide networks.
My career also included significant time working outdoor assignments and
supervising cable pullers, installers and remote electronic cabinet
technicians.
As a self-employed information technology consultant I provided network
build outs, migration to VoIP systems, call center initiatives, wireless
and application solutions for many clients inclusive of municipal,
commercial, medical and school districts. After equipment acquisition all
clients requested my services as project manager during installation, turn-
up and commissioning.
I am qualified for the responsibilities of numerous tasks, indoor and
outdoor, and will be productive with minimal training. My availability is
virtually immediate. Unique hours of employment such as 10 or 12-hour days
or travel between job sites or even between separate assignments is
acceptable.
I have a wide range of experiences with clients and suppliers. I have
often been engaged as a project manager for both small and nationwide
projects. I am a graduate of RIT with a degree in business
administration.
I am physically fit, mentally strong and know the importance of maintaining
schedules, accepting responsibility and seeing work assignments to
completion.
Your consideration of my interest and seasoned employment experience is
appreciated.
Warm Regard,
Bob Cooper
