Objective:
To obtain a full time position as a Mechanical Engineer in the area of Design and Product Development
Education:
University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC)
Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering May 2013
Projects:
Heat Conduction with Annular fins August 2011 – December 2011
• Studied heat conduction in annular fins used for air cooling of combustion chambers
• Ansys 11.0 was used to create the geometry, mesh generation and analysis with proper boundary condition applied
to study heat enhancement with different numbers of fins attached to the cylinder casing
Optical Image Stabilization using MEMS for DSLR’s August 2011 – December 2011
• Studied use of Gyroscope in Optical Image Stabilization of DSLR cameras using MEMS technique
• The project touched upon study of Operation Principles of Gyroscopes with use of MEMS, MEMS fabrication
techniques, methods used to measure hand shake and reduce the blur in images (Optical Image Stabilization),
performance characteristics of MEMS Gyroscopes
University Of Mumbai, Mumbai, India
Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, August 2009
Project: Design and Development of Mobile Manipulator Arm, India
Bhabha Atomic Research Center, Trombay August 2008 – April 2009
• Completed kinematic analysis of robotic manipulator arm which helped in calculating the position, velocity and
acceleration of each body of manipulator arm
• Assisted in writing C program which simulated motion of manipulator arm, also gave results about position,
velocity and acceleration of manipulator arm
• Created a 3D model of manipulator in PRO-E and analyzed the model using Abaqus to identify the failure region
and high stress concentration zones
Experience:
Eaton Corporation, Michigan
Innovation Center, Intern June 2012 – August 2012
• Worked on model of Variable Valve Actuator for inlet and exhaust valves for automobiles, ran simulations on the
model in AMESim, produced results related to power consumption and time taken to completely open the valve
• Tabulated results of the simulations in Microsoft Excel to better understand the motion of VVA
• Studied different research papers for Eaton’s Marine Hydrokinetic Project which involves different technologies
researched at different level to harness ocean wave energy to generate electricity
• Prepared questionnaire for Marine Hydrokinetic Project to better understand OEM’s objectives, their research in
design and development of the technology
• Assisted in research work of Advanced Combustion Boosting project which involved searching through of the
patents filed by different companies, universities regarding their new technologies in Internal Combustion Engines
Century Rayon, Intern, India October 2009 – October
2010
• Assisted Maintenance Engineers in Boiler Division in routine preventive maintenance of mechanical equipments
to ensure machines run smoothly
• Aided and rectified problem related to functioning of Air Compressors, Fluid Couplings and Turbines thus
reducing machinery downtime
