Senior Account Representative, Machine & Die Division

Account Representative for Honda Trading America (HTA), the largest subsidiary of Honda

T rading Corporation, specializing in supporting Honda's global business efforts by finding

marketing products to sell in Japan.

• Sole Account Representative for the Central U.S. Region’s Honda body frame assembly

plants and Tier 1 suppliers. Accountable for sourcing non-domestic equipment, dies, check

fixtures, and spare parts to support Honda’s in house trading company.

• Initiate, implement, and manage HTA’s Low Cost Country (LCC) die procurement,

presently sourced from China. Management of this project has included international travel

to China to support customer buyoff evaluations.

Communications between the U.S. staff and the Chinese maker is conducted in

o

Japanese. For the Chinese maker, Japanese is their secondary language; therefore

mastery of the Japanese language is crucial to this project.

• Manage the sale and installation of a $4.5M Destack Feeder for the Marysville Auto Plant

(MAP) stamping line that is part of a $62M new Servo Press line. Project management

responsibilities for this project include specification development and review, coordinating

the currency forward buy contract, coordinating the delivery of 9 flatbed loads of freight,

and managing 3 Japanese speaking installation supervisors employed with the installation

rigging company. This was the first equipment sale by Honda Trading to one of Honda of

America’s body frame plants.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

• $960K in sales from LCC stamping dies to Honda Tier 1 suppliers supporting the Honda

of America tooling cost reduction initiative.

• Reduced layer of management between Korean die check fixture maker and U.S. plant

reducing the cost by an average of 30%. Japan side involvement eliminated.

• Initiated and coordinated corporate file transfer protocol (FTP) site addition.

• Researched and coordinated addition of Catia drawing viewers (Tetra 4D). Resulting in

the additional low cost drawing functionality to existing Adobe licenses.

03/07 – 08/07 NIFCO America Canal Winchester, OH

Account Manager

Account Manager for Vibracoustic – Freudenberg North America, a leading specialist in

vibration control technology for both passenger and commercial vehicles offering the broadest

product range and system competence in the market, encompassing torsional vibration dampers,

engine mounts, chassis and driveline isolators, air springs, and micro-cellular urethane

components.

• Hired to develop new business with new Domestics including Toyota, Honda, Nissan,

Subaru, and Mazda. Key sales focus comprised of expanding current product lines sold to

the OEM’s to full company product line-up.

• Lead a team of 2 engineers and 2 quality assurance associates focusing on the

introduction of new material for a new application at Toyota.

• Managed a start-up in Japan, manufacturing the 2005 model year Subaru (SIA) bump

stopper with planned localization for the 2006 model year.

and United Technologies Automotive, Inc. specializing in the manufacturing of wire harnesses

and selling them to Japanese-affiliated automobile manufacturers in North America.

• Sole Account Manager for Furukawa’s $20M+ Honda account.

• Managed all aspects of customer relations with Honda in North America, including

development, launch, daily mass production issues, build-outs, service parts, and pricing.

Price maintenance and negotiations where a key function in this role.

• Communicated regularly with Lear Furukawa’s Juarez Mexico manufacturing facility.

Spoke with production and quality associates by phone and made quarterly trips to the

facility for face-to-face discussions. Supported Quality Assurance Visits (QAV’s) which

often included Japanese staff members with limited English speaking capabilities.

• Conversed with both the Ohio office and the Juarez Plant’s Japanese staff in Japanese.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

• Resolved $12M in unresolved invoices inherited from predecessor. Developed and

implemented a process to ensure unresolved invoices never exceeded $20K/Month. Process

incorporated into QS9000.
