Professional Overview
As a Project Controls Professional my duties have consisted of the
following, the preparation of Engineering and Construction schedules. These
schedules have consisted of the following articles of work, Cost Analysis,
CPM Analysis, Manpower and Man-hours, Earned Value Management, Monitoring
project progress, Resource loading, and up-dating schedules. Work has also
consisted of clarifications of contract documents, as well as field
supervision helping to resolve any and all problems through Architects,
Designers, or the Project Managers, and the Program Management Team and or
the Owner or his Representative. I have also prepared Preventive
Maintenance schedules for any and all equipment especially tooling
equipment utilized. These schedules also reflect Equipment Reliability
showing Schedule Maintenance.
As a Civil Engineer, I have performed design work on both roadway and
highway projects. This would also include design work for site development,
Process design of the Course Screen Facility for the Metropolitan Sanitary
District of Chicago.

Lead Scheduler In charge of the scheduling staff, of the corporate

build project schedules. I produced preliminary and construction
schedules for new plants as well as plant renovation work.
Schedules were generated for project brochures for each plant,
including those that were issued for to the field for contractors
to work by. My region was that of Northeast New York State.
My duties also entailed performing structural analysis of existing
buildings, and reviewing structural design work for new additions.
I then became the field liaison person representing Kraft Foods
while work was on going at the construction site.

Managed and supervised all project aspects assigned to the Gary,
Indiana branch office. This work included contract negotiations,

also functioned as the liaison person representing my company
between the prime contractor, city, state and federal authority's
involving the state of Indiana. My services were also called upon
to act as the claims manager, representing the previous project
owners (design build firm) against the state of Indiana. I Met with

I managed the design build development of three Milwaukee schools.
This project totaled more than 1,000,000 sq. ft. of new
construction, and an additional 100,000 sq. ft. of renovation work.
I ensured contract compliance with construction documents, and
specifications. Field supervision of several construction crews
performing work on the project.
Claims Manager As a claims manager I prepared a claim against the
Milwaukee Metropolitan Sanitary District. The claim was prepared by
using field documentation, analyzing construction schedules, and
cost analysis. Bowles did in fact win the claim without having to
go to court. Amount awarded was $2 million dollars.

Resident Engineer for the FAA, Great Lakes Regional Office in
Rosemont, Il. I supervised the conversion of the Tri-City's Airport
runway lighting system Monitored by inspection of daily
construction activities. My duties entailed verification of the
Contractors compliance with the contract documents and
specifications. I prepared up-dated schedules, payment estimates,
and contract modifications. I also provided technical
clarifications to Contractors involving FAA procedure. Work
performed in compliance with Airport, and City (DPW) officials.
Obtained clearances for the work to be performed, reported to the
tri-City's airport officials and their review board on work to be
completed, Percentage of work completed, actual work completed, and
turning over As Built Drawings.

This project was known as The Nabisco Retrofit Project and
Facilities Modernization Program. I started out preparing cost
estimates for the purchase of food processing machinery and
equipment for four bakeries. I was later moved to the Project
Controls dept., where I was taught Planning/Scheduling using
Primavera in DOS format. I then prepared base line schedules for
the Richmond bakery. These schedules incorporated cost, manpower
allocations, and resources.

. O'Hare International Airport Development Program -
Responsibilities were to ensure contract compliance with the
FAA, DPW, and other City of Chicago Aviation authorities,
regarding construction projects on a airport. I had four
projects which were the installation of water and sewer
lines, electrical utilities, and a major roadway for access
to the airports Southwest corridor. Tenant work involved
design review work and monitoring all construction either
directly or through field engineers. Some aspects of work
were to jack pipe underneath several taxi ways and one
runway.
. Center for Successful Child Development Center - Renovation
of a Chicago Housing Project Building, for the use as a youth
and day care facility. Supervised construction and ensured
contract compliance. Monitored the project through the use of
Field Inspectors.
. Northwestern University Basic Industry Research Laboratory -
Prepared cost estimates, contract modifications, and
established engineering controls. Performed site supervision
for the development and structural framing of a nuclear
facility.
