Project Name : A_CMP_UK_COTPLUS

Client : British Telecom (BT)

Platform : Customer Management

Duration : April 2010 to March 2012.

Location : Chennai

Environment : Oracle SQL*Plus client (10G), PL/SQL, Clarify Client

(Version 6.0.1.31), Java, J2EE, Struts, Unix, Web Logic and SQL developer .

DESCRIPTION:

> The COTPLUS system is a web based application which is used to

1) Receive customer instructions for BT work.

2) And Manage Customer orders and fulfillment

> The COT (Customer Ordering Tool) Plus is the Service Delivery element

of the BT Global Services Portal; which is an on-line application with

capabilities for Thompson Reuters order capture, order progression

(for both FCE & Reuters), order enquiries (for both FCE & Reuters) and

inventory views for the Service Delivery process (for both FCE &

Reuters).

> The COTPLUS application is used by Thomson Reuters to capture their

customer orders for BT catalogue services and by BT internal users to

provide configuration information. For FCE users orders are placed on

RADAR for MPLS. COT+ also presents available Thomson Reuters services

and the availability of services in the selected Country to the users.

COT+ is used for Upgrade and Business as Usual (BAU) orders as well.

COT+ captures commercial orders from Customers and sends it to service

delivery system for provisioning.

> COT+ also interfaces with Classic & BFG components. Classic is the BT

order management system used for Keystone orders. Key Classic

milestones, for example when the order is Ready for Service (RFS),

then automatically updates the corresponding activity in COTPLUS. BFG

(Big Friendly Giant apparently!) is a large database holding all the

sites and inventory details.

Business Needs:

Business needs for the COTPLUS application is to allow the Reuters and FCE

users to place the order on an on-line application, progress this order and

enquire for the Service Delivery Process of these orders.

Responsibilities:

. Interacted with client to gather the requirements and implement the same

in the project.

. Implemented PL/SQL queries, Stored Procedures, Functions, Cursors,

Triggers and Exceptions as per the design and development related

requirements of the project.

. Maintenance of KEDB(Known Error Database)

. Deploying new patches to add new features by using Unix commands and

Weblogic and to fix the bugs/defects

. Provide Fix to Incident and Problems raised on Clarify Bridge.

. Providing code fixes using SQL, PL/SQL for issues in incidents and for

deployment.

. Tested coding modifications, documented and assisted with application and

system testing to minimize errors and downtime.

. Performed Application Housekeeping and enhancement activities.

. Logging of defects & participation in Defect Triage meetings.

. Deployment and change management activities for enhancement of the

application.

Roles & Responsibilities: Client Interaction and Production Support.

Environment: Oracle PL/SQL, Java, ASP.NET, SQL Server 2005.

Description : This is a collection of different group of 10

applications which is used by Globe Telecom to manage their

business. Every application has number of interfaces with

internal and external systems. Communication between systems

are facilitated using Inbound/Outbound process by following

common protocol. Some of applications are interfaced with SAP,

Bank System.

The applications belonging to this group are:

Transition Activities:

1- Pre Transition Activities:

-Basically this is planning on how to go about the transition before

kick-off of transition phase. This document contains the list of

activities that needs to be covered, availability of required

documents from Client and queries to be raised during transition

phase.

2-Knowledge Transfer (KT)

This document contains list of questions and document required to

understand the application functionalities,change request(CR),workflow of

applications, build release process(BR), Escalation matrix, interfaces of

application if applicable, SLA, KEDB, Application health monitoring system,

application architecture, programming guideline, access, status sharing

template, Roles and Responsibilities, application maintenance process. In

the KT phase the interaction Client and TechM team is recorded and

maintained by KT tracker for mutual understanding between both parties.

3-Preparing Knowledge Transfer (KT) Sign Off

This document provides in-depth view of knowledge transfer

activities performed for application. This document contain status of

KT activities, KT session recording, schedule status, document and

artifacts, application finding, leftover, agreed FS and RS activities,

handover checklist.

4- Preparing Forward Shadowing (FS) template

This document contains list of FS planned activities that need to be

performed during forward shadowing. In this phase demo of all the

application activities is carried out and recorded in FS tracker.

5- Preparing Forward Shadowing (FS) Sign Off

This document contains list of FS activities executed status, FS

session recording,

Gap, findings of KT and FS, Leftover activities, RS activities

6-Preparing Reverse Shadowing (RS) template

This document contains list of RS activities that need to be

demonstrated for the applications to Client.

This document contains list of RS activities status that was planned

for RS

This is block diagram representation of schedule of KT, FS and RS
