DIRECTED 500,000 SQ. FT. PROJECT AND CUT COSTS BY $4M. MARK STEPHEN DESIGN

WAS CONTRACTED BY CONSOL ENERGY TO CONTROL A CHALLENGING HEADQUARTERS

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT. THE INTERIOR DESIGN AND ASSOCIATED COMPONENTS WERE

OVERWHELMING. ANALYZED ROADBLOCKS, ALIGNED VENDORS, REBID WORK SET NEW

FINISHES. RESET $80M PROJECT SCOPE, MEDIATED WITH TRADES AND RESOLVED ALL

ISSUES. PROJECT WON MULTIPLE INDUSTRY AWARDS, INCLUDING BEST LARGE PROJECT

OF THE YEAR AND CREATIVE ARCHITECTURE AWARD.

Coordinated complex project that reused antiquated space successfully.

Washington County contracted Mark Stephen Design to redevelop a 100 year

old jail into office space. Helped client gain state and federal funding,

set strategic project parameters and built the building into high quality

work space. Moved additional departments into the space and cut outside

building rent costs by 15%. Quality of project completion led to add-on

work contracts from the county.

Analyzed space needs to eliminate need of a new building. Society of

Automotive Engineers had run out of space for new employees. Contracted

with Mark Stephen Design to find best solution. Analyzed work patterns,

space requirements and gained approval to reconfigure departments within

the existing space. Made seamless changes, moved employees and saved

millions in unnecessary building expenses. Also improved employee

productivity metrics.

MANAGED ALL INTERNAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDING SALES, MARKETING, ACCOUNTING,

DESIGN, OPERATIONAL SUPPORT AND DEVELOPMENT OF AN INDEPENDENT NATIONAL

SALES FORCE. OVERSAW PRODUCT AND STRATEGIC PLANNING. DESIGNED AND DELIVERED

PROJECTS FOR FORTUNE 500 COMPANIES IN THE HOSPITALITY, TRAVEL, RETAIL, FOOD

SERVICES AND PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRIES. LED STAFF OF UP TO 10

PROFESSIONALS.

Vice President Design and Planning, Connected Office, a $6M contract

furniture and interior design company, 1985 to 2001. Managed sales, design

and project management team of 18 associates. Directed facility planning

for international and domestic projects. Controlled vendors, managed

financial standards and developed business development strategies.

distributor of office furniture.
