My duties for Odom Southern were to oversee the HR/Safety needs of
260 employees in 5 different locations around the state of Oregon. Under
Southern Wine & Spirits this expanded to covering 350 employees in
Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Utah. These duties include
personnel, recruiting, benefits, safety, and training. Since being here I have
conducted Manager/Supervisor training classes around the state. Worked
very close with upper management in reviewing employees abilities to
ensure correct placing.
2008 2009 Oregon Glass/Hartung Glass Industries Wilsonville, OR
-Human Resources Manager –
My duties were to oversee up to 210 employees, plus personnel, recruiting,
benefits, safety, training, Lean, Kaizen, JIT and Kan Ban. Worked with the
General Manager we created and revised policies and procedures that
would benefit the company and employees. Created and implemented a
Manager/Supervisor training program. Was given oversight of the
Customer Service department. Was also given oversight of the Sales
personnel and monitored quotes and follow through. Was involved with
General Manager in strategic planning for future growth of the company.
Created a new employee operated Safety Committee and started them
toward becoming an Oregon SHARP company. We reduced our Mod. Rate
from 1.73 to 1.34.
2005 2006 Columbia Aircraft Manufacturing Corporation Bend,

Director of Human Resources –
My duties were to oversee 720 employees and a staff of 6, plus payroll,
personnel, recruiting, benefits, safety and training. Created a new company
mission statement, employee handbook, manager/supervisor handbook,
and Retention Plan. Created new “Employee Empowerment” training
program and taught it to 80 managers and supervisors. Spent the majority
of my time addressing and resolving employee issues (the main reason I
was
hired). We reduced turnover from 60% to 12 % in 6 months.

Human Resources Mgr./ Safety Mgr./ Quality Assurance Mgr.
My duties were to oversee 160 employees, plus personnel, recruiting,
benefits, safety and training. Was a Continuous Improvement Team
member. Created a new employee handbook (bi lingual), conducted
management training classes and safety training classes. Worked very
closely with the CEO developing strategic ideas for future growth. We
reduced turnover to less than 5%, reduced Workers Comp. premium by
60%, and reduced Mod. Rate from 1.38 to .71. We earned 12 Oregon State
awards for safety including 2003 “Outstanding Safety Individual” and 2
awards for quality. As the QA Manager, I started company into ISO 9000
process.
