Chicago Park District - Goudy Park
Mr. Agirre served as MEP Engineer for refurbishing all Goudy park facilities
according to the new architectural conception. The project consisted on the design
of the lighting installation (Energy efficient design based on LED luminaries /
Electronic light control and AGI32 simulations), the design of the sanitation facility
(adding catch basins and pipes) and the grading.

Illinois State Toll Highway Authority I-90 “Smart Corridor” Project
In this collaboration with “Transystems”, Mr. Agirre, as Electronic and technical
Electric Engineer, provided Electrical and ITS design for the complete renovation
and widening of the I-90 highway from milepost 17.3 to 53.4. The scope of work
includes an overall conceptual design for power distribution; HV / LV distribution
design and implementation, study of possible Green Energy Sources (wind-solar),
and the specific design for a 4 mile section (lighting and ITS).
IDOT Pump Station 24
Mr Agirre is performing an Electrical construction inspection for a new Pump
Station 24. The work comprises commissioning of the main switchboard (two
Comed service lines and a generator), MCC-s, Pumps, Scada, Fire Protection and
Intrusion systems. Mr Agirre is working as a testing commissioner supervisor for
the construction project manager.
Chicago Housing Authority
Mr Agirre served as Mechanical Engineer for MEP renovations at various buildings
to comply with the Chicago Building Code, including HVAC and Fire Protection
design. His work also included site assessments, recommendation for design
improvements, for energy conservation and the replacement of boiler rooftop
units and air conditioning units to maximize energy utilization.
Chicago Public Schools – Edison Park Elementary School Annex
Mr Agirre provided services for Electric Engineer; Including Electric design, Fire
Detection and Alarm system design, telecommunication design for this new
elementary school annex. The school annex was 34,000 square feet size. The
project consisted of the following components: Classroom, Science Laboratory,
kitchen, dining room, office spaces, parking lot and recreational lighted area. The
related work included coordination and interconnection with the existing building
facilities. This project was designed to comply with the LEED requirements.
Torre Iberdrola Skycraper (Bilbao, Spain)
Mr Agirre was involved in the design and construction of the Torre Iberdrola
skyscraper (565 ft, 42 Storey). He was part of the Prime Engineering work team
providing his services for MEP design and field supervision.
During the designing phase Mr Agirre was involved on the design and calculation
of the HVAC production and distribution. Mr Agirre’s duties also included Building
Management System architecture definition, design and implementation. The
scope of work included facilities specifications, cost estimation and executive
summaries.
During construction phase, Mr Agirre working on a three member team was
involved on the overall supervision of facilities (Electrical HV-LV, HVAC, BMS, Fire
Protection System, Plumbing and Communications). The scope of work included:
Surveying, Field & Design problem resolution, reviews and approvals of all
material and equipment alternatives, Negotiate with constructors, monthly
progress reports, RFI, Change orders, costs estimation, Project Management
Assistant and pursue Silver LEED requirements.
New Headquarters of IDOM-Bilbao (Bilbao, Spain)
Mr Agirre was involved in the design and construction of a $20 M building and car
park facilities for IDOM Bilbao. Mr Agirre, as an assistant of the MEP leader, was
involved on the concept design and development of the whole HVAC and Building
Management System. The scope of work included concept design, Engineering
design, plan development, revision and coordination with architecture and rest of
facilities, bidding, field supervision and commissioning.

Vigo’s New Hospital (Vigo, Spain)
Mr Agirre was involved in the design of a $130 M hospital in Vigo, Spain. As a
member of MEP Outsourced Engineering company, he was involved on the
definition, design and implementation of the Building Management System and
helped the client during the review of HVAC design project.
Misurata University (Misurata, Libya)
Mr Agirre provided services for Electrical Engineering to develop a University
campus in Libya. Idom as Impregilo’s outsourcing company was responsible to
develop a masterplan for a new university. Mr Agirre, as a part of a work team,
performed Electrical and ITS Engineering design for three university buildings
including HV / LV design, load estimation, Lighting, power data/communication.
The related work included plans, cost estimation and executive summary under
British Standards.
District Heating at Bolueta (Bilbao, Spain)
Mr. Agirre served as Technical Electric Engineer for developing a district Heating in
Bilbao. Mr Agirre provided services to specify the generator, to design the HV / LV
substation and to design electric equipment. In addition, he worked as assistant of
the project leader, to calculate thermal load balance and he studied the viability
and Return On Invest of the different design alternatives.
Red Electrica Española
Mr. Agirre served as Power Electronic Engineer to performance the commissioning
of different power electronics equipment (Rectifier, Ups, Battery Charger) on
Electric substations all along Spain. The work included testing at the place of
manufacture, field revision, commissioning and maintenance.
