MAJOR UNIVERSITY HEALTH SCIENCES - BUILDING 1
. Provided on-site project management for the construction of
a state-of-the-art research facility (177,000 GSF) that
included over 70,000 sq. ft. of lab space and a vivarium
with large animal (sheep, dog, pigs, primate, rabbit), and
small animal (rodent) housing, surgery and imaging areas.
. Provided on-site continuous Quality Control for two major
University departments - Tissue Regeneration and Lipid
Protein Research.
. Ensured availability of construction specialties and
equipment for top of the line surgical, imaging, isolation,
and necropsy suites. Construction specialties included:
Acrovyn wall covering, Sani-Rail wall bumper systems, UV-
cured flooring systems, cage washing and sterilization
equipment, automatic animal watering systems, Edstrom
ViewPort automated husbandry staff task management system,
hose reels, jamb guards, and latch protectors.
. Evaluated and secured proper equipment for stem cell and
tissue processing, molecular DNA, and mass spectrometer
research labs. Equipment included: biosafety cabinets, CO2
incubators, Cryo storage systems, centrifuges, water
purification systems, cold rooms, autoclaves, and animal

. Provided on-site project management for the construction of
a state-of-the-art research facility (30,000 GSF) that was
dedicated to Mutant Mouse Management & Manufacturing.
. Provided management regarding separation between incoming
quarantine areas of the facility, and "clean" areas
designed for the housing and derivation/rederivation of
transgenic rodents. Lay out directly exhausted rodent
isolators to provide safe housing for 15 different
transgenic strains.
. Ensured availability of construction specialties and
equipment for embryo transfer and cryogenic storage areas,
isolated housing systems for SCID (severely compromised
immune-deficient) mice, specialized microscope facilities
and a wide variety, cage washing systems, steam
sterilizers, and high purity water delivery systems.

. Provided on-site project management for new research
facility expansion that included 10 animal holding rooms,
cage-wash room, necropsy and isolation suite, and a
veterinary service/ surgical room. Construction
specialties included: Acrovyn wall covering, Sani-Rail
wall bumper systems, hose reels, jamb guards, and latch
protectors.
. Secured equipment including: fold down exam tables,
downdraft tables, bedding dump station, biosafety cabinets,
