Maintenance Mechanic/Technician

Responsible for mechanical maintenance of CNC and robotic machinery in the manufacture of automotive transmissions. Very tight tolerances, the most stringent in the the industry. High knowledge of motors, hydraulics, pneumatics very necessary. Ability to set runouts to within .001mm with use of various measuring devices, i.e. micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc. Repair of conveyors, test equipment, as well as, fabrication, modification of production equipment. PC skills necessary for ordering of and organization of parts, also for documentation of projects, PMs, and regular maintenance.

Electronics Technician-Cornelius, NC

Responsibilities for the second shift operation over 100 machines. Machinery varied from

Davenport lathes to Acme screw machines to Kummer metal-working machinery. All machinery

was automated or in the process of being completely automated. The majority of the machinery

was older, except for the CNC machinery. All maintenance was done in-house with no outside

contractors, therefore allowing me an abundance of mechanical experience.

• Designed and installed an automatic parts feed system to all of the CNC machines,

cutting out an entire step of going from the machine to the parts table and then back to the

machine.

• Removed all of the old GE PLCs and replaced them with Allen-Bradley and Siemens

units and rewriting all the programs.

• Installed transformers for new machines. Assisted mechanics in moving in new

machinery. Wired all new machinery.

• Designed and fabricated boards which along with PLC, controlled automatic feed

systems.

• Worked under pressure to keep production machinery operating at high efficiency.
