EXPERIENCE
Electronic, Robotics, and Automation Tutor, Centralia College, Centralia, WA (Sept 2011-Present)
Manage and schedule tutoring services to students with busy, or difficult situations. Raise awareness regarding
safety and environmental concerns. Teach students to work safely with high voltage/high currents, ESD
sensitive components, soldering equipment, testing PNP and NPN transistors using diode test mode, measure and
calculate hFE. Inspect and qualify safety and testing equipment. Provide expert troubleshooting for problematic
electrical circuits, and assist students with projects involving Op Amps, low and high voltage/current transistors
with various mounting types, zener diodes, logic gate IC's, Binary counting IC's, DAC's, latches, relays, etc.
Provide training with digital and analog oscilloscopes, switch mode and linear power supplies, digital
multimeters, stereo analyzers, capacitance meters, soldering stations, function generators, PLC's & software.
Assist students with Parallax robotics and software using Java or Basic Stamp. Help students set up routers,
Vlans, private networks, and routing tables using cisco routers using terminal and web interfaces, configuring
WAP's, and defining subnet masks and valid lans on various ip ranges.
Assisted with developing and implementing a christmas display for the Centralia College Electronics
Club to participate in Centralia's lights display at Borst Park.
Volunteered quarterly at Electronics, Robotics, and Automation program's open house, where we visit
with members of the community, discuss career opporunities with potential employers, sell soldering kits
for fundraising, and supervise and teach the kids while they assemble them.
Was nominated and accepted the position of Electronics Club Secretary, and later Vice President. Where
we volunteer time to members of the college and community to repair broken electronics equipment, and
participate in drives such as Adopt-a-soldier, Penny Wars, and many others, where funds raised go to
soldiers in Iraq, support scholarships, and send books to students in need in Africa.
Was a founding member of the Lewis County Robotics Society, modeled after Seattle Robotics Society.
In conjunction with Centralia College we are hosting a robotics competition for local middle school aged
groups.
