MINISTRY OBJECTIVE
I desire to be used of God in building the Kingdom of Christ through the preaching and
teaching of God’s Word as pastor of a local Southern Baptist Church. I hope that this ministry
will enable me to share my life experiences and Spiritual gifts in the building up of other
ministers and lay persons, and particularly in raising up a generation with a Christian world-
view that will make God’s Church a force in the modern world.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
I was born on September 23, 1969 in Natchez, MS, and lived all of my childhood in
Woodville, MS.
Our Lord Jesus Christ saved me when I was nine years old at the Woodville Baptist Church,
then under the leadership of Dr. O. B. Beverly. I was called to ministry at the same church in
March 1986, and was subsequently licensed to the Gospel Music Ministry. Later that same
year, the Lord revealed to me that He had purposed for me to be a preacher of the Gospel, and
I was licensed to preach. Woodville Baptist Church ordained me to preach the Gospel in 1991
at the request of Pioneer Baptist Church.
My wife, the former Julie Ann Carte, and I were married on June 2, 1990. We were blessed
with our daughter, Savanna Dell Wheeler on January 21, 1994, and later with our
granddaughter, Felicity Dell Sanders on October 4, 2010.
MINISTRY EXPERIENCE
First Baptist Church of Pecan Grove in Ellisville, MS from April 1999 through October 2012.

During that time the Lord used me:
In leading the church in Sunday School and Discipleship Training classes for
young adults.
In leading the church in FAITH Evangelism Strategy the Experiencing God study.
In leading the church to begin an AWANA children’s ministry.
In leading the church to begin a van ministry.
In leading our youth to Truth 4 Youth Summer Camps, emphasizing a Christian
world-view.
In baptizing many souls whom the Lord had saved.
In counseling ministry for couples, souls in difficulty, and crisis counseling.
In directing the choir and music ministry, including combined choirs with a local
sister church for four years.
In overseeing and working alongside the Youth Pastor from 1999-2002.
Bassfield Baptist Church in Bassfield, MS from September 1993 through April 1999.

Experiencing God, Mind of Christ, and Baptist Doctrine studies.
In leading the church during the renovation of the sanctuary.
In directing the choir and music ministry.
In overseeing and working alongside the Minister of Music/Youth.

SECULAR WORK EXPERIENCE
I am currently employed at the US Post Office in Hattiesburg, MS since December 2012.
I worked in the Jones County Schools as a High School substitute teacher from 2009-2012.
I worked in church furniture sales with Covenant Church Furniture from 2005-2012.
I have worked several jobs in retail both during and after college as a salesman, assistant
manager, and repairman.
