Reporting to Commander Pete Fischel, I supported a crew of forty-one,

including officers and scientists, working in varying sea conditions and

handling multiple of dietary needs and allergy restrictions. Assisted in

bringing the vessel to life, from shipyard to operational status, creating

menus, procuring all items needed for the set-up and operation of the

galley and dining the facilities. Provided input on the redesign of the

galley and dining facilities, which are currently undergoing renovation to

bring the galley up to the required specifications for shipboard

operations. This vessel played an extended and critical role in operations

monitoring the oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, supporting

operations and conducting research for any impact to the ocean and the

environment. Directly supervised and trained one cook.

essential items for the vessel during extremely short port calls to change

out scientific crewmembers. Directly supervised and trained one cook.

three culinary personnel in support of a one hundred and twenty bed nursing

transiting to San Diego, California for an essential renovation. I was able

to step in and take over for the ailing Chief Steward without any major

interruption to daily operations.

the health and protection of the countries reefs the Gulf of Mexico and the

east coast as well as the sea life there and in the Caribbean waters,
