This office is a high paced office. I am working with 4 physicians. The
specialty is nephrology. We primarily used 2 computer programs, Visionary
and Aprima systems. My responsibilities and tasks are as follows:
Gather accounts receivable and process into computer
Prepare monthly statements for patients
Request authorizations and referrals for patient office visits or
diagnostic testing doctors ordered
Verify patient insurance
Call insurances to discuss denied claims
Double check claims are correct before batching them out or resubmitting
Collections of past due balances from patients
Submit secondary insurances with1500 claim forms
Create reports, daily balances, physician productivity, monthly totals
Tally up ledger sheets (recently stopped using them in our practice)
Prepare deposits and go to the bank
Close out daily batches and made sure they are allocated properly
Organize work spaces and closets
Rotate out old papers and send them to storage facility
Have patient education materials ready for patients and explain insurances
when needed
Cross trained for front desk, making appointments, checking patients in and
out,
My accomplishments in this facility are as follows;
Increased accounts receivable income revenue in the office from 25% to 87%
in the first year and into the 93% the following year
Organized closets and work areas appropriate to nursing, billing, and front
desk areas and created functional and productive work spaces for all.
Created protocols for the office from requesting authorizations, billing
processes, red flag alerts, and collections

This was a very large, high paced animal hospital. I had the honor to
witness this place grow into a 24 hour /7 day emergency hospital. Dr. John
Hodges, a retired veterinarian, began this practice and sold it recently to
VCA clinics. My specialties were dentistry and geriatrics.
My duties and responsibilities were as follows;
Assessing patients and listen to owners in exam rooms before vet
examination
Assisted vet in exam room
Preparing estimates for care
Preparing bill for discharge
Discharged patients to owners along w/ explaining patient care
Assisted in surgeries and prepped pet for surgery
Prepared surgical packs and sterilized
Took x-rays
Performed dentals
Inserted IV's
Performed blood draws for lab testing
Prepared and read results fecal, blood, and urine samples for testing
Set up quarantine areas when needed'
Gave treatments to hospitalized patients, shots, iv drips, oral meds
Cleaned and calibrated medical equipment when needed
Ordered brochures, samples, and pamphlets regarding pet education
Cross trained in reception, grooming, and kennels
