Maintenance Technician

As Maintenance Technician for the Volunteers of America (VOA), was

responsible for the maintenance and repairs on the (VOA) program homes and

homes that were under the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) program.

This entails making repairs and any installation needed on the homes, such

as painting, installing and/or fixing plumbing using various repair

instruments, installing cabinetry, countertops, flooring, electrical

lighting and major appliances. Adjustments or repairs to HVAC when needed.

Responsible for the purchase of appliances such as stoves, refrigerator,

vanity items, toilets, washers, dryers, windows and doors for the houses

using the agency credit card. Tasked with the coordination and scheduling

of meeting with contractors and inspectors for repairs that required

outside services to handle special equipment to complete the jobs. Inspect

the work performed to make sure it was done correctly. Report any

inconsistencies or defects of repairs to ensure they were corrected prior

to the home inspection and to insure that repairs are accurate and

complete. Experienced in reading blue prints, installing electric wiring

and lighting and small cabling for existing internal use, provided weekly

status reports and invoices to management on jobs completed and pending to

ensure projects were completed.
