EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

State of Utah, Utah Arts Council, Business and Economic Development Department, 2003- 2005.

Lead state arts agency with 22 professional and semi-professional staff located in four facilities.

Responsible for $3.2M annual budget and safeguarded those public funds through prudent

management and application of accepted accounting practices.

Directed twelve statewide, mission-driven outreach programs (Arts Education, Artist Endowment,

Artist Services, Community/State Partnership, Performing Arts, Design Arts, Folk Arts, Grants,

Literature, Public Art, Traveling Exhibits, and Visual Arts) and oversaw all other agency operations

and services.

Conducted strategic planning processes to assure a visionary direction for the agency.

Utilized regional and national state arts agency best practices.

Provided arts and culture leadership and support throughout the state.

Represented the agency and its policy-driven board of directors to artists, arts organizations,

government and legislative bodies, corporations, private foundations, the media, and the public to

foster the arts, stimulate economic and community development, and address quality of life issues.

Made sure the agency served as a catalyst for arts programming throughout the state, assisting arts

organizations, groups and individuals in bringing arts and culture to the people of Utah.
