Summary

I am currently going through the final stages of my BBA undergrad at Trent University. During the first semester of my third year I spent four months in Osaka, Japan, going to school with students from all over the world. In the following summer I was in Hong Kong on an internship with Cheung Kong Holdings in real estate development.

I have taken on the role of Executive Vice President for the Business Students Association at Trent University and have actively coordinated events and networked with students and professionals from across Canada and the world. Throughout the next few years I plan to graduate with Honours and work for an organization that will benefit from my international experience.

Experience

Executive Director of Sales and financials, Peterborough student guide, Peterborough, Ontario, 2011

-Competed in the Canadian MicroVenture business competition with a team of four business students.

-The team broke a National Record of Profit in a single week by selling over $5000 worth of advertising space on a map we created.

-My responsibilities were to sell the advertising space while controlling all of the companies financials. I made close to 50 business deals through cold calling local small-business owners in less than a week while managing a team who each had their own roles in the process.

Commercial Leasing Intern, Cheung Kong Holdings, Hong Kong, Hong Kong, June-August 2011

-Constantly comparing and analyzing property attributes of different developers and building types to better understand the market in Hong Kong and throughout Asia.

-Further utilizing these comparisons to report on the changing nature of the real-estate market in Asia and around the world to predict future trends.

-This experience was coupled with living in Hong Kong for the first time. I was attempting to learn another language and adapt to a new culture throughout my time overseas.

Research Assistant, Certified Medical Protective Association, Ottawa, Ontario, May-August 2010

-Responsible for file transportation for the Certified Medical Protective Association between departments as well as many other duties to assist full-time researchers.

-Responsible for keeping track of large quantities of files as they were constantly needed by different researchers and clerks.

First-line support and database management, Netcelerate, Ottawa, Ontario, May-August 2009

-Answered customer support calls and solved issues related to VoIP for the emerging Ottawa-based Company Netcelerate.

-Included great training in interacting with people and leaving professional messages.

-Created case studies that are to be used on the company website. Worked keeping customer records current and complete.

Spent four months in Japan studying the Japanese Language as well as Asian Business courses while learning about the Japanese culture and lifestyle. An incredible learning experience that developed my interest in the world as a whole and that deepened my understanding of life in countries other than my own.
