Veterinary Experience: Girard Animal Hospital: I have shadowed Drs. Bill and Laura Morland periodically since junior high. I have assisted and participated in a wide variety of tasks involving both small and large animals. Fort Scott Livestock: I have assisted Dr. Don Sotta working livestock sales periodically during veterinary school. Foreign Animal Disease Diagnostician Course (Riverdale, MD): I spent one week during veterinary school learning about foreign animal diseases from the USDA as part of the Veterinary Training Program for Rural Kansas (VTPRK). Center for Disease Control: I spent one month in Atlanta, GA observing infectious disease outbreak investigation. I worked as a member of the 2008 “tomato outbreak.” team.
Animal Experience: I have a lot of experience with cattle and small animals. I have a lot of experience working cattle off horses, but not a lot of equine veterinary experience.
