Personal Statement
I knew I wanted to be an engineer since I was four. My dad was an engineer back in the air force and you know what they say, “It’s in the genes.” My parents were great at nurturing my interest in engineering at a young age. They bought me Lego and allowed me to take apart any toy I had, just to look inside, without a spanking. My dad and I would saw wood together, fix electrical appliances and talk about just how anything works and how we could improve on technology we currently have. Mum and dad encouraged me to take the job as a computer technician though I was still in school. They believed education has to be supplemented with hands on experience. Sixteen years down the road and I am as excited to study engineering, as I was when I was four. Ten years from now I see airplanes engineered greener, more efficient and cost effective. It is a vision of mine to bring the green from the ground to the sky. Mum and dad never doubted I could do anything I put my mind to.
