- It's humbling to remember that even after rejecting Christianity as a young man and spending years researching world religions and philosophies, God's evidence by grace led me to Christ, now serving Him for 30 years in Christ-centered family counseling, science education, seminar speaking, animal-assisted ministry, and writing.
Who impresses you?
After decades interviewing top scholars of science, philosophy, and theology, plus examining their research and conclusions, there is one person who alone impresses me. His-story and teachings reveal him to be the greatest scholar alive today. In fact, evidence demonstrates beyond reasonable doubt that he is far more than a mere scholar. He is our Creator, Christ, the only Self-existent "I AM" YHWH as predicted for thousands of years in 100's of detailed prophecies - His name is JESUS (Yeshua, meaning "God-Savior").
His wisdom is profound enough for any PhD, yet simple enough for any child.

Withdrew - Doctoral Program in Psychology & Counseling NOBTS.edu due to wife's temporary medical needs & expenses. Then one of our six children was born with congenital heart issues requiring many expensive heart surgeries over the past two decades. Only one more surgery to go! Please pray for him.
* On a couple of occasions I was offered teaching and counseling positions through which the institutions offered to pay for me to complete my doctorate. However, our need to stay geographically close to my son's heart surgeon plus the wonderful blessing of the Louisiana program for my kids' college tuition, led us to decline those offers in the past.

(2006-Current)
® Good Shepherd Initiative actually began about 30 years ago while in graduate school, primarily as a "no-fee" (donation only) family counseling service, based upon the Creator's "family" counsel in Scripture. The number of hurting people seeking help was so great that the "waiting list" soon grew to over 50 people most of the time, sometimes taking months for a person or family on the list to finally get in for counseling. The ministry merged with a large local church to develop and expand a peer counselor training program called, The Biblical Counseling Center - BCC which also grew significantly over the next 10 years.
BCC peer counselor training and counseling was eventually handed over to the church as it became clear that there was an increasing need for seminars and workshops to educate and motivate others regarding the historical reality and practical value of a truly biblical worldview. Sadly, many of our Creator's cornerstone truths and principles were being systematically censored from the culture by secular mainstream media, politically correct academia, and liberal Christianity.
For Example:
- Our Creator's character is revealed as a Good Shepherd protector not a predatory designer of "survival of the fittest".
- Ecclesiastes 4:1 paraphrased says, "Then I looked and saw the tears of the oppressed, that they had no one to comfort them. Yet on the side of their [abusers] was power." Therefore, the focus of my current work is the educating, motivating, and activating of others to stop predators who abuse power/authority (exousia). This is the key to protecting powerless children, women, and men in this fallen creation. The website has grown over the years, increasingly reflecting this top priority of our Good Shepherd.
Seminars: Presentations on family counseling, Scripture, science, etc., are now designed with an effort to motivate participants toward sacrificial attitudes and actions on behalf of God's priority: the weak, vulnerable, and oppressed. Unwittingly, many modern Christians, especially in the affluent West, are missing out on the most exciting and rewarding opportunity in life; that is, serving as one of His protectors. None of our modern pleasures and past times can satisfy like taking up our cross (Luke 9:23-26) on behalf of the most vulnerable of our Good Shepherd's fellow lambs.
Church Mediation: Turning predatory survival of the fittest practices into protective peacemaking patterns.
Crisis Family Counseling: Time constraints now limit my counseling to severe crises, especially involving individuals or families suffering from abuse and in need of an advocate, linking them to those who can rescue and restore.
Animal Assisted Ministry: Having spent almost thirty years as both a zookeeper and my brother's keeper, it's a blessing to watch our Creator's creatures reach hurting hearts that have become closed due to human betrayal.

Valuable input has been provided by world renowned scientists who are now biblical creationists as a result of new and significant evidences in every field of science. These internationally recognized creationist scientists include Dr. Raymond Damadian - inventor of the MRI, Biologist Dr. Richard Lumsden of Tulane University, Geneticist Dr. John Sanford - inventor of the Gene Gun at Cornell University, Geophysicist Dr. John Baumgardner - inventor of the supercomputer program TERRA at Los Alamos National Laboratories, Astrophysicist Dr. Russell Humphreys of Sandia National Laboratories, award winning medical anatomy professor Dr. David Menton, etc.
- Began a Bio-Logic Club for students and staff who desire a more in-depth study of our Creator's Character (the Good Shepherd) as the cornerstone of Christian doctrine and living. The club provides additional discussion, tutoring, field trips, video presentations, creation evangelistic outreach, and debates with theistic and atheistic evolutionists, progressive creationists, gap theorists, etc.
- Once a zookeeper, always a zookeeper, so a miniature menagerie has been maintained, at times consisting of over 25 aquariums/terrariums and featuring over 40 animals for the study of life and nephesh relationships.
(Licensed with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries for wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, possession, and release, therefore my classroom serves as a refuge for the rescue and restoration of wildlife in need.)
- Animal Assisted Ministry: the animals (especially young raccoons, opossums, and squirrels) serve as valuable assistants in reaching the hearts of students, parents, and counselees who have been hurt by humans.

- Due to increasing medical insurance needs in our family (especially our son s heart surgeries), the church had to make the decision to merge with another local church - Northside Baptist. The five years pasturing one of our Father's local "families", was a wonderful, difficult, and educational responsibility. In spite of us, the Lord did wonderful things among the families in the church, through the simple ministry of His Word (preaching, teaching, and discipleship-counseling).

- An a searching non-Christian, I resigned to travel and search for answer to the ultimate questions of life. However, I stayed in town, remaining unofficially associated with the Zoo.

Divorced: At 22 years old and prior to becoming a Christian, I was married for only 6 months when my wife at that time (also a non-believer) subsequently abandoned the relationship to renew her old life. God used this break up to bring me to the end of myself and ultimately saving faith in Christ. After many months reaching out to her and seeking biblical counseling from numerous conservative pastors and theologians, it became clear that a divorce was not only biblically allowable but advisable for financial and ethical reasons.
