Maintain airway patency with trach and vent. Assess status as pt is weaning from vent. Trach changes and all respiratory equipment circuitry change. CPT and ABI vest treatments.

Maintain seizure precautions and treat seizure onset until it has ceased or paramedics arrive.

Administration of GT feeding and GT changing.

Administration of meds via vent port, GT, IM, and PR.

Hourly documentation of vitals and assessment.

Responsible for complete care of ADLs ie: bed bath, inc. care, oral care, etc.

Communicate and work with multi-disciplinary team to assure optimal pt care is obtained.

Attend all MD appts with pt and Mom d/t being pts primary nurse.

Proficient in use of feeding pumps, vent, Hoyer lift with scale, TM with humidification, W/C, stander, ABI vest, tumble form chair, and orthotics. Proficient in urethral catheterization.

Orientation of most nurses who work in the pts home @ all different stages in their careers.

Worked on Med-Surge floor that specialized in pulmonary pts but we worked with all pts with various diagnoses and comorbities.

Basic vent and trach knowledge and care. Respiratory would oversee most of the problems with vents.

Administration of meds via every route. Handled 5-7 pt assignment.

Worked as part of a multi-disciplinary team to assure optimal pt care.

Responsible for pt admissions and discharges along with all documentation and pt and family teaching.

Assisted MDs with bedside procedures, responsible for reporting any abnormal test results to MDs.

Experience with multiple IV accesses ie: IVADS, central lines, midlines, picc lines, saline locks. Ability to run TPN and blood and draw labs from appropriate IV accesses.

Responsible for delegation of responsibilities to CNAs.

Also responsible for overseeing LPNs with signing MD orders and IV med admin that they could not admin.
