Professional Experience
Since I was in high school I have been working in restaurants. Mainly Greek food but I also directed my attention towards being able to further my career. Right after high school I started working at Acropolis Gyro Palace as a cashier/cook. The experience lasted two years. I then moved on to MCL Cafeteria and was quickly promoted as a supervisor. With life changes and have learned so much from my position with MCL I was approached about a General Management position for Michael's Goody Boy with the possibility to buy out half. I was in charge of food cost, labor cost, liqueur cost, scheduling, bill handling. Partial payroll also fell into my responsibilities. It was a great place newly renovated with a very unstable business. In July of 2012, the actual owner came with an offer to purchase half of the business. This was a great opportunity however; the price was much more than I was looking to spend for the business that they were getting. Not seeing eye to eye on many issues regarding the restaurant Jim Velio (the owner of Jimmy V's restaurant chain) and I had to part ways. Now I am working at Anna's Restaurant (A taste from Greece) as a line cook and I am very happy. It's a part time position; it keeps me busy through the weekend; while I am pursuing my own business. I now that I feel I have learned and experienced hands on all aspects that I would be able to open and run my own business successfully.
