Darien Lake Theme and Water Park Resort, Darien Center, New York April 2007 present

Administrative Assistant to the Vice President, General Manager

Responsible for the daily planning and execution of all duties to support the Vice President, General Manager of a major Theme Park Resort and Performing Arts Center . Responsibilities include:

Secretary to the General Manager. Update and maintain Daily/Weekly Attendance and Weather Analysis reports. Assist with correspondence and complaints. Maintenance of the Organizational chart and Telephone Directory. Travel arrangements for the General Manager and all team members. Coordinate Lodge reservations for corporate visitors. Assist switchboard operators on a daily basis (15,000 calls annually). Responsible for Inclement Weather closing plan. Handle all facets of the mailroom. Generate monthly postage report. Other duties as assigned.

Assist Promotions Manager with Season Pass sales and weekly promotions. Responsible for the intake and processing of season pass orders, (4,500 annually) from October to August. Troubleshoot problem areas.

Switchboard Supervisor. The switchboard serves as the hub of the theme park, accommodations and Performing Arts Center taking 50,000 calls annually. Responsible for training three operators in customer service, telephone etiquette, use of the Information reference binder, season pass sales, the importance of integrity and credit card identity theft and what to watch out for when taking season pass orders. The switchboard operators are required to retain an immense amount of information to perform their job effectively and then relay that information to the public on a daily basis.

Developed and created a switchboard log which is used to assess demand on the switchboard and also serves as a cost saving tool when budgeting and scheduling the switchboard operators. Fiscal savings in 2009 totaled $12,500.

Monitor all requests made on the Darien Lake Website Information Line. Fulfill all donation requests.

Record voicemail on the Auto-Attendant for the Theme Park, Accommodations on Hold and concert schedule.

Developed and created the neighbors database annually rewarding all families living within a one mile perimeter of the theme park with free or discounted passes.

Assist the Marketing department with trade media/sales mass mailings, ticket fulfillments and complaints.

Developed and created a traffic database which is used to alert local and state police, emergency personnel, and the New York State Thruway in traffic management issues during high volume events. All government officials in the Towns of Corfu and Darien are also notified. Assist Public Relations Supervisor with the annual traffic luncheon.

Coordinate yearly updates with Duplicating Consultants. Maintenance agreement for twelve high volume copiers throughout the theme park resort. In 2009 all copiers were networked to all area computers as a way of taking pressure off individual printers and the high cost of toner cartridges.

Order all office supplies, stationery, birthday cards and business cards for all eight departments within the theme park.

Provided administrative and secretarial support to the Director, faculty and adjunct faculty. Developed and created a registration database for all traditional graduate programs to track the high volume of students going through the registration process each semester. Developed a tracking system for student pre-requisites and non-course requirements to insure all requirements were satisfied and documented.
