I was elected to serve as a member of the Grayling City Council in 2003. I became the Mayor as soon as I was elected. I worked very closely with the City Manager in the development of new policies and procedures of operations for the City of Grayling. Developed the annual budget for the City of Grayling. Played a very active role in the development of the new City/Township Fire Department. Served as the Ambassador for the City of Grayling. I resigned my position after two years to become the Varsity Wrestling Coach at Grayling High School.

Construction Trades Instructor: 08/2003 to 08/2007
I was hired as the Construction trades Instructor of a program that had dwindled in number of students participating to the lowest level the school had ever experienced.
I adopted the Same Curriculum that was being used at the Gaylord M-Tec, worked with the Instructors at M-Tec to bring back the program to a level where it had become the most requested elective class at Grayling High School.
Developed a program that gave all students a basic understanding of the building Industry, with an emphasis on residential site development, foundations, framing, wiring, plumbing, roofing, siding and Interior finishes.
I have served as a member of the Crawford AuSable School District Coaching staff for the past 18 years beginning with the position of Grayling middle school wrestling coach; I was added to the football coaching staff where I served as a member of the staff for six years. In 2006 I assumed the position of Head Varsity Wrestling Coach. Do to my position as The Land Use Director for Otsego County it became necessary for me to resign the head coaching position. I have now returned to the position of head wrestling coach and Vice President of the Grayling Youth Wrestling program.
