Our company computer system was compromised of many different programs and companies needed to perform for a medical assistant within the office on a daily basis. We use Microsoft Word 2010, Adobe Reader, Care 360, LMC Pathology Reports, SDMI Reports, Centerworks, IKnowMed, Sage Intergy, and Centricity are a few of the programs. Care 360 and LMC pathology are used to access patient blood work and pathology reports for the physicians. I was given the opportunity to excel in many laboratory tasks. Which included Drawing Cbc, Dipstick UA, Slide Staining, collection of Bone Marrow Biopsy and Aspiration, Protime and INR, Coulter Ac T Diff II, Bayer Multi-Stix, Diff-Quick II, Roache Coagu-Check System, and Laboratory Medical Consultant Protocol were many of the tasks performed. I was also responsible for specimen acquisition, and the processing of blood specimens. As a medical assistant, I also had the responsibilities of patient processing, assisting the physicians with procedures such as bone marrow biopsies, filling and maintaining medical records, rooming patients for physician visits, and taking down patient vitals. I have also had the opportunity to perform some front office tasks including scheduling patients for future appointments, checking patients out, and verifying patient insurances.
