aCCOMPLISHMENTS

Campbell Crag, a geologic feature in Antarctica named after me by the U.S. Antarctic Committee of Antarctic Names, approved by the U.S. Geological Survey, National Academy of Sciences and the National Science Foundation (1995).

Developed the proposal for and supported the South Pole Traverse, from the initial Proof of Concept (route development-2002) to current production traverses, including the traverse expansion project (2007) and a complete second traverse platform (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act-2009).

As Project Manager (1987-88), led the successful recovery and return to service of an LC-130F Hercules aircraft, formerly abandoned at a remote site in Antarctica in 1971.
