INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER / SENIOR PROCESS ENGINEER

Process Engineering / CPI / Lean Manufacturing / Process Improvement

Production Control / Workflow Analysis / Benchmarking / Capacity Analysis / Cost Control

Evaluated and streamlined manufacturing workflow processes, increasing productivity, reducing labor cost, and decreasing product loss. Analyzed production lead time and instituted performance standards, improving efficiency. Assembled and led cross-functional, self-sustaining teams. Performed compliance auditing of product materials.

* Revamped Allied Air's manufacturing process, improving production 50%.

* Overhauled line performance, reducing Allied Air's labor expense 50%.

* Designed production process, decreasing Alcoa Fujikura manufacturing time 65%.

* Established Frigidaire quality assurance program, reducing product loss 97%.

* Managed enterprise-wide software implementation, reducing Thermo King labor costs $260K.

* Increased Cummins Beta Line-Zone 3 right the first time from 70% to 93%.

* Created standard plans for all turbo models which led to actions that increased turbos / person from 6 to 10.

* Created capacity models for machining areas using Witness simulation to validate $1M re-layout plan.

Key Skills: Capital planning and purchase justification Performing against tight deadlines Building international enterprise-wide relationships Highly organized and professional Open to new approachesRelates easily to individuals at all levels Self-motivated, hands-on work ethic High energy and enthusiasm Well respected.

HIGHLIGHTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS

* Revamped Allied Air's manufacturing process, improving production 50%. Tasked with increasing coil production to meet projected customer demand. Led cross-functional team in evaluating production practices and reorganized plant layout and workflow, implementing new procedures. Streamlined processes, increasing daily output from 800 to 1200.

* Overhauled line performance, reducing Allied Air's labor expense 50%. Company labor expense was escalating due to lack of performance standards. Conducted time study on assembly line process to determine average performance criteria. Formulated performance measures and established operating standards. Implemented work station improvements, reducing number of line staff, achieving consistent daily production.

* Designed production process, decreasing Alcoa Fujikura manufacturing time 65%. Time spent coloring spools for manufacturing of fiber optic cables was seven hours and needed to be cut. Evaluated plant setup and operating practice. Identified inefficient procedures, rebalanced stations, streamlining processes. Reduced average time to three hours.

* Established quality assurance program, reducing Frigidaire's refrigeration product loss 97%. Company's manufacturing lines were experiencing damage/loss of 700 units per week. Conducted internal auditing process to determine root cause of excessive product rejects. Developed loss prevention program. Redesigned factory processes and corrected machinery, reducing losses to 20 per week.

* Managed enterprise-wide software implementation, reducing Thermo King labor costs $260K. Charged with streamlining and implementing labor cost reductions on its assembly lines through software implementation. Directed research, training and implementation initiatives for manufacturing software providing measurement and line balancing tools.

* Increased Cummins Beta Line-Zone 3 right the first time from 70% to 93%. The Beta Line needed to improve its right the first time % in order to meet future production requirements. Conducted zone 3 analysis that identified station 24 as the bottleneck station due to frequent retesting. A 7 step problem solving process was conducted and the number of retests were reduced.

* Created EASE standard plans for all turbo models which led to actions that increased turbos / person from 6 to 10. 2008 plant objective was to increase turbos / person on the assembly lines. Line balance was created using Ease 6.2 software. Bottlenecks were identified and 6 sigma project was launched to increase uptime, right the first time and overall production output.

* Created capacity models for machining areas using Witness simulation to validate $1M re-layout plan.

A million dollar layout of machining area was proposed. Simulation model was created that determined machine cell layout, operator utilization and work flow.
