JAY ALLEN

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Mr. Allen has over twenty years of proven success and progressive responsibility in the design and construction industry. During his 18 years at Marriott, his responsibility grew from construction management of Courtyard Hotels, to Vice President-Design and Development of the Contract Services Division (Sodexo Marriott and HMSHost). As the senior executive of multiple development organizations, he has had direct responsibility for over four billion dollars ($4B) of completed construction projects in the mixed use, restaurant, hospitality, retail and institutional market sectors. Mr. Allen has consistently developed teams, processes and policy that have led to excellence and sustainable improvement in controls, cost, schedule and operating efficiencies that drive ROI.

An expert at delivering brand identity across multiple venues, Jay has a demonstrated ability to program and implement large scale roll-outs. At HMSHost (Host Marriott), Jay's team delivered over 350 mixed use projects in airports, travel plazas and specialty retail venues annually, representing an annual capital expenditure of over $300 million. Following the tragic events of 9/11/01, development success within the highly regulated airport environment required unprecedented skill in planning, logistics and project management. Utilizing a design/build project delivery process, success was achieved by developing strong relationships with design professionals, equipment suppliers, specialty vendors and general contractors across North America, Europe and Asia.

As a competitive Contract Service provider, HMSHost required highly accurate budgets and schedules for Pro-forma development. Within the first year following Mr. Allen's organizational and process changes, the budgeting accuracy improved from an historic 25% overrun to a sustained variance of budget to actual cost of less than 2%. This improvement was accomplished while reducing average cost per square foot by 15%, and substantially reducing project timelines from concept award to opening.

As a Project Management expert, Jay has consistently taught his teams the importance of "beginning with the end mind". He provides the tools, policy and processes that reinforce his teaching and utilization of Project Management skills. These skills have been taught in the classroom environment and implemented in various business sectors to include Contract Services, Restaurant, Retail, Hospitality and General Contracting. His expertise has been formally recognized by Mr. Allen's inclusion into Strathmore's Who's Who in American Business.

Jay's experience includes operating a pure P&L Design/Build Department within Marriott. Created to support the demanding schedule requirements of the contract food service provider (MMS), he developed the tools, processes and procedures to consistently deliver outstanding results. The team provided a full range of planning, estimating, design, procurement, design/build and construction management service, on a guaranteed cost basis, to Marriott's 4000 operating units across North America. Projects included tenant fit-out, remodels and ground up construction at Colleges and Universities, Corporate venues and Hospitals. In recognition of his outstanding achievements, Jay was presented with the prestigious Marriott President's award for Outstanding Achievement and Contribution to the Management Services Division.

In Summary, Jay is an accomplished Development Executive, with a proven track record of success. He is an effective leader and communicator who successfully translates vision and strategy into sustainable bottom line results for the corporation.
