Purchasing and planning of all Live Plant categories for 1,200 U.S. Kmart stores.

Work with vendor base of 70 vendors located across the country.

Manage all assortments and seasonal transitions for live plants. Negotiate all costs and terms based on market trends and seasonal factors. Work with vendors to determine regional assortments and pricing for each market to calculate maximum sales and margin based on the product mix. Work with finance team on the weekly forecasting of all sales, margin and markdowns for each category group. Responsible for all national and regional advertising, in-store events and promotions. Determine which items will be featured in the weekly ad for each merchandise area. Direct the Store Operations team on merchandising strategies for end cap, sidewalk and table displays through store brochures and POP signage. Partner with the Inventory team to maintain stock levels of perishable items. Additional responsibilities include the setup and maintenance of all live goods items including UPC additions, deletions, distribution flow paths and all pricing of over 4,500 active SKUS.

* Increased Seed Starting category sales over 300% through the introduction of new vendors, assortments and advertising.

* Introduced a successful line of licensed seed kits geared towards children in 2011.

* In 2011 began additional buying responsibilities for the tree, shrub, holiday and indoor plant categories.

* Re-vamped the 2011 poinsettia program and increased sales by 16% and margin by 7% over 2010 through distribution, assortment and advertising.

* Increased sales of Indoor Plants in 2012 over 2011 by 15.6% through the introduction of new vendors and indoor plant rack program in select stores. This will be expanding to 500 stores for 2013.

* Sourced six additional annual, perennial and indoor plant vendors for 2013 to expand the current assortments with new items not available with current suppliers.
