AAtR Publishing, An Affair to Remember, J Byous Co. We are dedicated to quality, value and service in all of our endevors -- Weddings, Photography, or Scottish/Irish products. "Byous" in old Scot't Dialect means "extraordinary". That is the substance, character and excellence for which we strive.
How does Jim describe himself? "Husband to Rebecca, Dad to Shannon and Melissa, Dad-in-Law to Roy Brasil (via Melissa), "Papa" to Morgan Rebecca, Kate Helen and Tara Rose McCormick, Christian and provider for two mutts named Snoopy and Reno. After that I am: a writer, award-winning photojournalist and illustrator, archaeologist and historian. I received a B.A. in journalism/photojournalism from San Jose State University, San Jose, California in 1977, and a master's degree.in history at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, GA, 2003."
How does Becky describe herself? "Married to my best friend since 1970. Mom to two beautiful daughters, Shannon and Melissa and mother-in-law to a wonderful son-in-law, Greg. A happy "Cramma" (Grandma) to the three most amazing grand children in the universe. I am a lover of people who loves to help brides create beautiful weddings."
A list of publications in which Jim's work has appeared include, Time Magazine, Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Herald, Louisville Courier-Journal, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Newsday, New York Times, London Times, Washington Post, Paris Match, Der Speigel and various other European magazines and newspapers by way of the Associated Press. Currently he is the publisher of AATR Publishing in Savannah, Georgia.
Professional awards include recognition by The National Press Photographers Association, San Francisco Bay Area Press Photographers Association, California Press Photographers Association, California Professional Photographers Association, The Associated Press Annual Photo Contest and California Newspaper Publishers Association (for photos and illustration).
My experience is varied. I have served as Photo Chief for two newspapers, The Herald in Livermore, CA and the Merced Sun-Star in Merced, CA, and as a graphics editor for the latter. Also, I was Public Information Director for California Baptist College in Riverside, CA and have experience as a historical-archaeologist in Savannah, GA. Currently Becky and I own An Affair to Remember, J Byous Co. in Savannah, GA USA.
