Financial
* Implemented a cash management program for a group of commonly controlled corporations with multiple locations with combined annual revenues of $1.3 Billion with 750,000 acres of timber.
* Restructured and consolidated troubled term loans and working capital lines of credit in excess of $750 Million to maintain solvency under adverse conditions.
* Obtained new funding for financing of additional capital expenditures for projects and acquisitions valued at approximately $200 Million.
* Developed in conjunction with operating management, business plans and strategies to be used by the Board of Directors to evaluate opportunities and by the financial community to make lending decisions.
* Maintained relationships with both banks and commercial lending institutions. Negotiated terms, waivers and amendments to loan agreements.
* Assisted in the procurement and oversight of the group corporate insurance and benefit programs for $700 Million in assets and $100 Million in payroll.
Accounting and Control
* Managed information systems, treasury, financial analysis (proficient in Excel, Lotus, FRX, Forecaster), performance measurement, forecasting, budgeting, tax planning and credit functions with over 10 staff members. Improved systems and organized workloads, both to keep staffing under control during periods of growth and to continue service in down cycles.
* Merged accounting departments for a number of business units resulting in elimination of duplicate overhead and improved control over operations.
* Liaison to outside auditors resulting in timely completion of engagements and control over audit fees.
* Senior Staff Accountant on lengthy due diligence engagement of hostile takeover and break up of $1 Billion textile conglomerate.
* Started new accounting department and installed mainframe computer hardware (IBM AS400) and software (MAPICS and Great Plains).
* Supporting documentation and working papers preparation for 10Q and 10K filings.
* Internal Sarbanes & Oxley initial process documentation project management.
Taxation
* Organized planning efforts to take advantage of opportunities to minimize tax liability for 6 sub-chapter S Corporations and their 3 major shareholders.
* Provided, as an executive perquisite, tax counseling and return preparation for other key persons in 6 brother/sister companies.
* Managed all federal and local tax reporting in a multi-company/multi-state environment, avoiding late filing and other non-compliance penalties.
