To Whom It May Concern:

I am currently a Multimedia Sales Consultant for Digital First Media and their daily newspaper, The Times Herald, located in Norristown, PA. In this position I am responsible for the King of Prussia and Phoenixville sales areas. Although the Times Herald is a print publication, our parent company has realized that future growth will be in digital, rather than print advertising. Thus, I have made this my major focus and have established new accounts with advertisers within the Philadelphia metropolitan area and companies headquartered in other areas of the country that are looking for an audience in this area. In the last 4 months, my area revenue has increased over 300% from the prior year.

I have an extensive background in marketing, sales, and management. Throughout my sales career I increased the customer base and sales volume 15-25%. In marketing, I developed a corporate marketing plan using data from existing customers and, found new product areas that increased overall sales and profits for the subsidiaries. During my manufacturing tenure, I helped maintain sales and production while coordinating a move from Philadelphia to Flemington, NJ.

Through my various work experiences, I developed an extensive product knowledge, from spring design and metallurgy, to packaging large financing transactions, and finding the best medium and message to reach the desired audience for our clients. I have communicated with engineers, designers, accountants, presidents and chief financial officers, working to meet their needs. If a customer called with a problem, I took care of it regardless of the time or distance required. Similarly, I encouraged customers to call regarding needs, concerns, or requirements.

I have used computers extensively to perform sales and marketing functions and am currently certified on Salesforce CRM. I am also experienced on the Internet and am certified with -Google Adwords- In my work history, I am experienced with Microsoft Office along with contact management, web design and graphics programs. Management skills are overseeing the hiring and supervision of administrative and manufacturing employees, sales management, negotiating union contracts, materials purchasing, and customer relations.

I feel that my career has been a series of learning experiences that have taught me many important lessons. I have seen many different products being manufactured - from small aerosol valves to large locomotives and steam turbines. I learned that financing is fundamental to the sale of large equipment and held monthly meetings with salespeople to demonstrate that rather than looking at a large capital cost, they can use a smaller monthly payments to get a higher selling price. This meant more profit to the dealer and more income for them. I also discovered that there are usually selling opportunities beyond the business you are currently doing. General Electric Corp. may be a premier customer for my competitors, but there could be 4 or 5 smaller companies making a comparable product using parts similar to the ones I was selling. In managing a manufacturing company I learned than consensus focuses everyone towards a common goal. There are unique challenges to any business but I have found that two principles are constant: First, product knowledge and satisfaction of your customer`s needs lead to sales growth, and second, finding the right people to service, maintain, and grow your customer base is vital. I believe that I am one of those people.
