Test Manager responsible for integrated test management for projects in
the software development life cycle.
Hand-picked to provide just-in-time test support for a major corporate
initiative involving 2+ million hours of code implemented over 3 years by
defining the test management role, hiring a team of 20 associates with no
previous testing experience, developing and implementing a new hire
integration program with a detailed work break down structure to cultivate
test managers who successfully delivered all six phases.
As the program completed, evolved the team from program support to
individual project support, retooling as needed, to give each associate the
necessary tools to manage testing from end to end.
Methodology/Quality Assurance Manager responsible for the software development life cycle
methodology.
Project Manager responsible for managing complex projects utilizing cross-
functional teams ranging from 20 100 participants and budgets up to $40
million through the software development life cycle. Projects entailed
infrastructure updates, system conversions, merger and spin-off initiatives,
new or enhanced products/services, government requests for proposal,
process improvement and training.
Avoided $10+ million in tax penalties by delivering the Embarq (formerly
Sprint LTD) spin off project on time, transitioning 3.5 million customer
accounts, shutting down spin-off specific functionality and integrating
Embarq s new billing software vendor into Sprint.
Contributed to a major program yielding $64 million in revenue and cost
savings by managing the build of a conversion engine used to transition
80% of the customer base from a retiring platform to the target state
billing platform.
Delivered projects on time and within +/- 10% of budget by developing an
all-in-one tool based on the PMBOK principles to provide project structure
and tightly manage day to day activities, allowing more time for planning
and proactive management of major milestones and issues or risks. This
tool was widely adopted by project managers across the enterprise.
Ensured timely project decisions by effectively managing the
communication of issues and risks with associated get well plans and
recommendations to all stakeholders, including executive levels.
Facilitated the merger of four IT organizations by developing a role-based
online training certification program containing over 250 training modules,
used by 6,600 associates for just-in-time training. Developed and
delivered workshops on project initiation, resource management and
forecasting to over 700 associates.
Collaborated with the testing organization to create a test execution report
and job aid using Quality Center to enable project managers across the
enterprise to manage all phases of testing.
Contributed to project management maturation by providing formal and
informal mentorship to other project managers.
Created a Change Management Framework (Change Review Board) for the
software development life cycle, collaborating with key stakeholders
(project managers, software developers, business users, architecture,
testing, etc.) to manage Idea Submission, Prioritization, Assignment,
Implementation, Change Management and Monitoring (metrics & reports).
Provided program management for over 90 updates to the software
development life cycle, incorporating the Capability Maturity Module
Integration (CMMI) and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) frameworks into
everyday IT processes.
Operations Analyst provided analytical support for revenue, cost center and
system plan budgets .
Managed annual operating cost center budgets of $10M-$35M to within
1% of variance.
Lead analyst for a revenue budget of $2.9B supporting 19 sales channels
and 7 products.
Provided CEO level reporting on key billing indicators over a period when
Sprint was under extreme pressure to fix billing accuracy and timeliness.
