Evaluation Team; Department of Health Education and Recreation, Southern Illinois University Carbondale (2002)
Developed and implemented an evaluation of a youth substance abuse prevention coalition: Marion Partnership for Youth.
Employed a transactional approach for the evaluation design that included observation, dialogical reports, and an evaluation instrument, designed by the Center for Prevention Research and Development at the University of Illinois, adapted to fit our measurement needs.
Collected and analyzed the data and formally presented it to professors, classmates, and the Executive Director of the Center for Rural Health and Social Services at Southern Illinois University.
Co-authored an unpublished manuscript that included an executive summary, introduction, review of literature, purpose, research questions, evaluation research design, data analysis, results and discussion of results, recommendations, and references.
Public Health Practicum; Planned Parenthood of Central South Carolina (1995)
Developed and implemented an evaluation of educational services at Planned Parenthood of Central South Carolina.
Designed and distributed a knowledge and behavior assessment, designed and distributed an exit assessment of client satisfaction, conducted one on one interviews with patients, conducted one on one interviews with clinic staff, conducted clinic observations, reviewed clinic protocols, and reviewed all educational materials being distributed by PPFA.
Created an unpublished manuscript outlining the results of the evaluation, Planned Parenthood`s mission statement in terms of sexuality education, the purpose of clinic evaluation, the methods used to conduct the evaluation, results and discussion of the evaluation, the recommendations for improvement based on the data found during the evaluation, and a concluding statement about my personal experience at Planned Parenthood.
