I am a Chartered Accountant from India with 24 years post qualification experience including in top position/leadership role in Health Care Organization, International Not for Profit organizations and Educational and Research organizations with a passion and flair for service and quality delivery, serving mankind, continuous improvement, processes review and risk management.

I am of Indian nationality and settled in Botswana, Africa for last 20 years.

I am, now United State of America Immigrant (have Green Card and eligible to work and live in USA). I also hold the Social Security Number (USA).

I am working as a Finance Director for Botswana Harvard's Aids Partnership (BHP), a partnership between Harvard School of Public Health, Boston, USA and Ministry of Health, Botswana. BHP also has collaboration with largest State run hospital and also has 6 clinical sites throughout the country. I am the head of finance and responsible for all financial, grants management, research administration, procurement, USA GAAP, OMB circulars and other legal compliance's.

BHP is a Non-Profit Organization, which supports country's HIV/AIDS and public health research, prevention from mother to child transmission, education and treatment services. Since its inception in 1996, BHP has partnered with the Botswana Government to conduct research and provide assistance in education, training, monitoring, and evaluation to combat the HIV/AIDS epidemic and other pressing public health issues. BHP gets its grant mainly from Harvard School of Public Health, USA, Central for Disease Control (CDC), USA, National Institute of Health (NIH), USA. BHP also has collaborations/ partnership with various Donors from UK, Canada on various projects, and spread in most countries in Africa. Presently BHP is handling more than 35 grants/projects.

I have attended various conferences/workshop on USAID rules and regulations grant management, GAAP and hold the membership of National Grants Management Association (NGMA), USA and Society of Research Administrators (SRA), USA

Before joining BHP, I have worked for 7 years in capacity of Finance Manager and Acting Executive Director with Botswana National Productivity Centre. BNPC, an ISO 9001: 2008 certified and an internationally renowned Educational, Research and Knowledge based (not for profit) training institution with a sole objective of promoting productivity in Botswana and in Southern Africa and also carry research and execute projects on behalf of Donor Partners/Countries mainly Commonwealth, SADC, NORAD (Norway Government), SINTEF (Norway) and other global partners. BNPC is working as a lead catalyst in the transformation of Botswana into prosperous, productive and innovative nation. BNPC also have a mission to transform commercial enterprises with focus on local small, micro and medium enterprises into nationally and regionally competitive businesses through application of methodology to operationise their strategies. BNPC also have a mandate to address the health/wellness issues including the impact of HIV/AIDS on productivity of various sectors including mining sector.

In addition it has hospitality and Event division consisting hostels, conference centers, library and restaurant facilities.

I also have been appointed to serve as Standard Council Member (Board of Directors) of Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBS), an official body responsible for all issues related to standardization and quality assurance at the national level. BOBS is also a full member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the national contact point for all SADC programs and Standardization and Quality Assurance. I am serving as committee member of its Finance and Audit Committee as well as Staff Affairs Committee and adviser to the Company on Financial and Human Resource matters. Recently re-appointed as a Vice Chairperson to the Board of Directors.

In my capacity as Finance Manager I reported to Executive Director and Board of Directors. I specialized in Management reporting, budgeting, funds management, cash management, banking, tax, procurement, insurance, legal matters, liaising with Donors, management of Donor funds, Management of grants from Government, attendance to Budget meetings at ministries, internal and external audit, relationship with various ministries, banks and insurance companies. I was also activitily involved in Corporate Governance issues, strategic decisions and sustainability of an organization. BMC is the leading National Abattoir with the slaughter capacity of more than 1200 cattle a day with full manufacturing, processing, marketing and transportation of beef and beef products mainly for export to European Union. BMC has its own cannery and tannery and have subsidiaries companies in UK, Holland, Germany and in South Africa. In my capacity as Senior Management Accountant, I reported to Chief Accountant and was responsible for production of Monthly, half yearly and yearly accounts under ORACLE SET UP, Costing of all products, Budgeting and quarterly forecasts, cash flow and variance analysis, Designed desired Management reports through Application Data Integrator ( combined Oracle Applications with Microsoft applications), Oracle Fixed Assets Maintanenace,Half yearly and yearly consolidation of all foreign subsidiaries under multiple currencies, Vat and Tax matters, Trade financing-Pre-shipping and post shipping.

Played a lead role in conversion from old accounting system to Oracle Financials.

Balfour Beatty is a British Electric and Mechanical Contractors and has its operations in Botswana, Zimbabwe and Malawi. In my capacity as Regional Financial Controller, I was in charge of Finance Department of all the locations and reported to Head Office in UK. I was responsible for Monthly and yearly Management Accounts, Annual budgets, Contract accounting, payroll, consolidation of African Subsidiaries and submission to Head Office in United Kingdom.

Within a span of 8 months was promoted to the position of Financial Controller and within next two years was promoted as Regional Financial Controller.

Independently handled the consolidation of African Subsidiaries and reported to Head Office in UK under very tight reporting deadlines.

For the last 18 years I have been a part of music oriented charity band known as SARGAM. I play the solo position on Congo and Drums. We managed to donate from our last 2 shows a) USD 15000 was donated to Trust Fund which assists in rehabilitating mentally retarded children. B) USD 13000 was donated to President housing appeal fund which deals in providing houses to orphans/homeless families.
