Mechanic A-Duties: Operated Jobs as a Machinist.. Planned out work for the day with a crew. Fabricated shelves, work stations,special projects in design and planning.Worked on mud room drain lines, replacement of sewer room floor, concrete repair work at reception room entrance,fabrication and installation of removable barriers at access holes. Worked on removal of sluice gate pump motors and made cavitation repairs on no. 3 runner. Did record keeping and assured that spare parts were available. Was foreman over a crew of summer workers rebuilding spillway gate chains. This involved painting with vinyl paint and sandblasting metal links. Supervised Maint. workers who were assembling spillway gate chains and installing spillway gate chains. Operated Intake Crane on intake of powerhouse. Operated Jib Hoist with a clam bucket attached to remove trash from intake slots. Operated crane to remove spillway gate chains that were being replaced. Was maint. foreman over a crew in the powerhouse doing trouble on maint. problems and during annual inspections of main generators and other related equipment.Operated lathes,drill press, milling machine, electric welder,acetylene welder,pipe threader,Powerhouse crane, sandblasters,forklift,dead weight testers, table saw,concrete saw, and all power tools. Installed governor air compressors,and station air compressors.Measured wicket gate timing on main generating unit actuators. Tested and calibrated gauges.
