I started off in Thompson IG in the Laminating Department. Was Packing and helping seem the glass. Sanding the glass down so it's not sharp. Was moved to the clean room where you lay vinyl in between two pieces of glass. You have to be very good at payng attention to detail. No contamination, no sucked in vinyl, no scratches or chips in the glass. Worked with glass from heat strengthened all the way up to hurricane. Recently, I was moved to the air space department as a cutter. Have to know how to use a saw and read a tape measure on the dot. Then I just recently got promoted to machine op/team leader. Running a muttin master which makes bars for insulated units. Have to know how to read a fax. Making patterns which is a special piece of glass that needs to be measured out so you can hand bend the airspace.
