Trained at the Williamstown Regional Art Conservation Laboratory. Thesis on American artist Elizabeth
Gardner Bouguereau was published by Woman s Art Journal.

Wrote decorative arts honors thesis in conjunction with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation (conservation,
interpretation, and research departments.) Staff art writer on the Flat Hat newspaper. College of William &
Mary Alumni Prize for Art History.

FNAR 206 Art Appreciation: Broad range of studio experiences in drawing, painting, ceramics, screen
printing, street art, portraiture, block printing, graphic design, photography, sculpture, woodcarving, and
glass fusing as well as understand visual elements, composition, and historically important artworks.
FNAR 207 Art History: Intersperse chronological study of artwork with inquiry (and guest speakers) on the
business side of art, including auctions, conservation, forgery, and theft.
FNAR 250 Special Topics: Photography: Explore nature, commercial, portraiture, photojournalism, and fine
art photography through historical examples, guest lectures from professionals in each genre, and
critiqued assignments.

Freelance Writer (2005 present). Write and edit press, book, blog, and web pieces for publications, artists,
and galleries, including Art & Antiques, ArtMag, Wells Gallery, Robert Lange Studios, Rebekah Jacob Modern,
Lazare Gallery, Smith-Killian Fine Art, and John Duckworth.
Art & Antiques Magazine, Special Advertising Section Writer, (2006 2008). Wrote on art topics including
Asian, tribal, antiques, figurative, Florida, luxury, Scottsdale, and Charleston as well as artist profiles.
Gibbes Museum of Art, Director of Education and Outreach, (2004 2005) Charleston, SC. Oversaw 55
staff/volunteers providing a rich curriculum of learning for all ages on and off the museum grounds including
classes, docent training, and Art to Go for underserved populations. Managed costs to 89% of budgeted
expenses while doubling income for summer camps and increasing donations by 30%. Managed visiting artist
workshops including William Dunlap. Cultivated collaborations with Drayton Hall, YWCA, College of
Charleston, and the Charleston Housing Authority.
The Commonwealth Institute, Program and Marketing Director, (2002 2003), Boston, MA. Developed
cutting-edge programs for high-level women entrepreneurs and CEOs in response to personal discussions
about their business issues. Reconfigured sponsor benefit structure based on data analysis and industry focus
groups to raise $225K annually. Managed sponsorships, ad revenue, and marketing for three 1200-attendee
events with total profits of $275K; speakers included former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and real
estate mogul Barbara Corcoran. Ran an intensive 3-week boot camp for technology CEOs.
Arthur Andersen LLP, Marketing Manager, (2000 2002), Boston, MA.
Developed marketing materials (including nationally distributed tech newsletter) for technology industry
focusing on venture capital-backed entrepreneurs throughout New England. Managed a $350K annual
marketing budget and 2 staff. Participated on the national industry marketing team and local non-profit
committees related to entrepreneurs including the Center for Women & Enterprise and the Boston Chamber
Future Leaders Forum.

Helped manage publishing process for fine art list working closely with authors, artists, photographers, and
